Well this sucks. Growing up in Rochester in the 80’s and 90’s, we constantly had him on the radio. Circa 2005, I got a car with XM radio and I remember how happy I was when I could finally hear his voice again… Most of us still here on this site grew up with him so nothing I say is going to do him justice… I’m not usually one to get overly emotional about the deaths of celebrities that O never met but this one stings.Comment

The Sabres will be honoring RJ this Sunday at 5pm with a special event at KeyBank Center. It'll be a roundtable discussion with broadcasters and Sabres alumni. Admission is free and open to the public; tickets can be acquired on the team's website.
