Tee Higgins, Sam Hubbard ruled out for Week 10

The Bengals will not have a key offensive and a key defensive player for this week’s game against the Texans.

Via multiple reporters, head coach Zac Taylor said in his Friday press conference that receiver Tee Higgins (hamstring) and defensive end Sam Hubbard (ankle) have both been ruled out.

Higgins suffered his injury on Wednesday and didn’t practice on Thursday or Friday. Hubbard did not practice all week.

Vikings officially rule out Justin Jefferson for Sunday; elevate Sean Mannion

The Vikings officially ruled out Jefferson and offensive guard Chris Reed for Sunday.

“The hamstring is a difficult injury just because it lingers and it comes back from time to time if you don’t put the right treatment into it,” Jefferson said Thursday, his first public comments since being injured Oct. 8, via Kevin Seifert of ESPN. “The guys and the rest of the coaching staff in this building know my worth on the field and they want me at 100 percent, as I do as well. I don’t want to go out there at 80 or 90 percent and have the chance of hurting it again. It’s just day-to-day, and when that time comes, I’ll definitely be ready to step out there.”

Trey Hendrickson to have MRI after hyperextending knee Sunday

Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson is kicking off a short week by getting his knee checked out.

Hendrickson hyperextended his knee during Sunday’s loss when Texans wide receiver Noah Brown fell into his leg at the end of a play late in the game. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Hendrickson is having an MRI as part of the process of determining the severity of the injury.

Deshaun Watson to have MRI on ankle Monday

Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson was in a walking boot after Sunday’s win over the Ravens, but told reporters that his left ankle was fine after he hurt it near the end of the first half.

Michael Thomas, Marshon Lattimore have “fairly significant” injuries; Derek Carr’s shoulder is fine

The Saints saw three key players leave Sunday’s loss to the Vikings with injuries and head coach Dennis Allen offered updates on them during a Monday press conference.

PFT reported on Sunday that quarterback Derek Carr avoided a serious right shoulder injury and Allen confirmed that was the case on Monday. He said Carr’s shoulder “checked out fine,” but his return to action after the bye week will be dictated by his progress through the concussion protocol.

Vikings place Jordan Hicks on injured reserve

Hicks spent two nights in a local hospital after developing compartment syndrome in his right leg Sunday. He underwent an immediate procedure to relieve pressure and swelling in his shin.
He posted a statement on social media after being released from the hospital Tuesday.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out to me the past few days and for all of your continued prayers,” Hicks wrote. “The surgery was a huge success and I’m grateful for all of the doctors, nurses and medical staff who treated me. Looking forward to getting back out there with the guys soon!”

Kyle Shanahan confirms torn ACL for Talanoa Hufanga

The initial word on 49ers safety Talanoa Hufanga’s knee injury wasn’t good on Sunday and it didn’t get any better on Monday.

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed on a Monday conference call that Hufanga tore his ACL during the team’s victory over the Buccaneers. Shanahan said that Hufanga avoided any other damage to the knee, so the hope is that he will be ready to go for the start of the 2024 season.

    Re: Injuries

Rams receiver Cooper Kupp had to exit Sunday’s game due to injury, but it doesn’t sound like he’ll miss too much time — if any at all.
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Kupp is dealing with a low-ankle sprain and the club will evaluate him over the course of the week.
Kupp suffered the injury late in the first half of Sunday’s victory over the Seahawks.
“He was going to try to come back and play,” head coach Sean McVay said in his postgame press conference. “He was moving around at the beginning of the second half and we were hoping that he’d be able to go, but it just didn’t quite feel good enough.”

Browns safety Rodney McLeod’s season is over.
McLeod suffered a biceps injury during Sunday’s win over the Steelers and head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters on Monday that McLeod needs to have surgery to repair it. The veteran will miss the rest of the season as a result.

    Re: Injuries

    Luke Musgrave suffered lacerated kidney

Luke Musgrave showed tremendous toughness in Sunday's win over the Chargers, playing through a lacerated kidney that required a trip to the hospital after the game.

He's now home, resting and being monitored, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. Musgrave cannot travel and will not play in Green Bay's Thanksgiving Day contest in Detroit, and his status is to be determined going forward, per Rapoport.

Musgrave avoided surgery, thankfully. He also demonstrated plenty of fortitude, which impressed his coach.

Lions rule Jonah Jackson out for Thanksgiving

Left guard Jonah Jackson has been ruled out because of a wrist injury that kept him out of practice all week. He is the only player that received an injury designation for Thursday.

Jackson also missed the Lions’ comeback win over the Bears. Colby Sorsdal got the start in his place.

Three other Lions were on the injury report during the week. Defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs (illness), safety Ifeatu Melifonwu (hand), and center Frank Ragnow (toe) were full participants all three days and are on track to play against Green Bay.

Aaron Jones out, AJ Dillon questionable for Thursday vs. Lions

It’s possible the Packers will be without all three running backs they had active for last Sunday’s win over the Chargers when they play the Lions on Thursday. Green Bay won’t have at least two of them.

Running back Aaron Jones is out with a knee injury he suffered in Week 11. He was listed as a non-participant for all three of this week’s injury reports. Running back A.J. Dillion is also questionable with a groin injury, though he was listed as limited on all three reports.

Bucs place WR Rakim Jarrett on IR

The Buccaneers placed rookie receiver Rakim Jarrett on injured reserve Wednesday, the team announced.

He will have to miss at least four games before returning to the active roster.

The Bucs are banged up with linebacker Lavonte David (groin), cornerback Jamel Dean (ankle/foot) and linebacker Devin White (foot) non-participants on Wednesday’s practice report. Cornerback Carlton Davis III (hip), receiver Chris Godwin (knee/elbow) and center Robert Hainsey (knee) were limited.

49ers fear season-ending torn biceps for S George Odum

The 49ers lost All-Pro safety Talanoa Hufanga to a torn ACL last week, and now face the prospect of playing the rest of the season without Odum.

The core special teams player had played 72 percent of the team’s special teams snaps this season before Thursday. He was injured in the second quarter when Seahawks returner DeeJay Dallas mishandled a kickoff, and Odum scrambled for the loose ball.

The Miami Dolphins blew out the rival New York Jets on Black Friday, but they suffered a huge loss as well. In the fourth quarter, pass rusher Jaelan Phillips was carted off the field with what the team announced was a right Achilles injury.
Unfortunately, you could see a clear pop in the back of Phillips' right leg.

Rachaad White added to Bucs injury report, questionable for Sunday

The team announced that running back Rachaad White has been added to the report with a knee injury. White is considered questionable to play against the Colts.

White has 141 carries for 459 yards and four touchdowns this season. Chase Edmonds, Sean Tucker, and Ke’Shawn Vaughn are the other backs on the roster in Tampa.

The Bucs also announced that defensive lineman Mike Greene will not make the trip to Indianapolis. He had initially been listed as questionable to play on Sunday because of a calf injury.

Linebacker Lavonte David and cornerback Jamel Dean have also been ruled out.
