Zone upgrade update

Hi all

We got the quote from the host to upgrade the site - which I will post below

It is $2000 and currently we have about $800 in the account (hosting will come up in February which should be around $800).

We are looking at potential raffles we can do to raise money which of course we will keep you all up to date on.

For now I will give the host the go ahead to proceed and figure it out from there.

Of course any donations are welcome (http://www.billszone.com/fanzone/payments.php?) as well.

I will communicate information as openly as I can

So as for the quote to migrate to a virtualized cloud environment, it was decided that 20 hours for a total of $2000 would be required.
This would involve moving to an upgraded OS into a virtualized cloud environment
-configuring the network
-migrating and updating webmin
-migrating and updating wordpress
-migrating and updating vbulletin

Let us know if that's something you would like to move forward with.

Hi Tom,

I just wanted to chime in with the status. We are still busy completing our compliance. If I can't find the time to get to this by the end of week, I'll ask one of our capable admins to step in and assist

It looks like this is *finally* almost done

We are also upgrading vBulletin at the same time

I anticipate this being finished in the next few days.

Please be patient as we work through the normal issues that can pop up when there is an upgrade and change over. I think it will be a clean cut - that is they are moving the data over and then will turn on the "new" site.

Of course there might be temporary downtime, slow downs, etc as well as any new looks that come with the upgrade.

I threw some money in for the upgrade; it would be nice to get the member tag and the No TOS access....

There also is a donation link at the top of the page (http://www.billszone.com/fanzone/payments.php?) - you can use that as well. But if you send it directly, maybe we can avoid fees.

I will also look into setting up a Venmo as well
