The Ravens aren’t closing the door on the possibility of tight end Mark Andrews returning to the lineup this season.
Andrews left last Thursday’s win over the Bengals after a tackle by linebacker Logan Wilson and a report on Friday said that he suffered a cracked fibula along with damage to ankle ligaments. On Monday, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said that further tests showed that the injury was less severe than the team first thought and that Andrews is still being evaluated to see if there’s a chance that he could return to action this season.

Jets sign Trevor Siemian to active roster
Siemian has been on the practice squad since signing with the team in the wake of Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles injury, but the team formally signed him to their active roster on Tuesday. They also announced that they have signed cornerback Craig James to the practice squad.

49ers sign Ben Bartch off Jaguars’ practice squad
The 49ers are signing offensive guard Ben Bartch off the Jaguars’ practice squad, Mia O’Brien of 1010XL reports.
Bartch will take the roster spot created with safety Talanoa Hufanga’s move to injured reserve with a season-ending ACL tear.
Both of the 49ers’ starting guards — Aaron Banks (toe) and Spencer Burford (knee) — were estimated as non-practice participants Monday.
Bartch started the first three games of the season for the Jaguars before being benched. His starts came at left guard, and he has played three snaps at right guard in eight game appearances this season.

Kareem Jackson’s appeal is denied; he’ll miss the next four games
The last time Broncos safety Kareem Jackson appealed a four-game suspension for a chronic pattern of illegal and dangerous hits, the process cut the banishment in half.
This time around, Jackson had no such luck.
Hall of Fame linebacker Derrick Brooks, who serves as one of the two hearing officers hired and paid jointly by the league and the NFL Players Association, upheld the four-game suspension imposed after Jackson lowered his helmet to make forcible contact against Vikings quarterback Josh Dobbs on Sunday night in Denver.
Jackson inexplicably was neither flagged nor ejected for the blatant violation of the rules.
He’ll miss games against the Browns, Texans, Chargers, and Lions. He’ll be eligible to return for Week 16 against the Patriots.

The four-time MVP has maintained throughout his recovery that his comeback is contingent upon the Jets being in contention. At 4-6, with a three-game losing streak, it looks bleak. Rodgers insisted the Jets aren't out of it, citing the 2016 Green Bay Packers and 2009 Jets as teams that rallied from 4-6 to reach the NFC and AFC Championship Games, respectively.

Jake Browning: This isn’t a Josh Dobbs situation, I know the offense
While Browning will make his first career start this weekend against the Steelers, the quarterback does have the benefit of time on task. Having entered the league in 2019 as an undrafted free agent out of Washington, Browning has been with the Bengals since 2021 when he first joined the team’s practice squad.
“I’ve been in this offense for a while,” Browning said in an interview with Geoff Hobson of the team’s website. “It’s not a Josh Dobbs situation where I’m showing up on a Tuesday, get thrown in on Sunday. I know the offense.”

Jalen Ramsey is the AFC defensive player of the week
The NFL named Ramsey the AFC defensive player of the week on Wednesday. It’s the fourth weekly honor for the Dolphins this season, but the first on defense as the previous winners were all on the offensive side of the ball.
That’s been the unit that has drawn the most attention in Miami this season, but last Sunday’s win showed that Ramsey and the defense can come up big on days when the offense may not be firing on all cylinders.
