The other 32 compensatory picks were awarded by the league’s longstanding formula that sends extra draft picks to teams that lost more free agents than they signed, with the free agents who signed the biggest contracts yielding the highest compensatory picks. This year the top compensatory pick, No. 96 overall, goes to the Jaguars after they lost tackle Jawaan Taylor to a four-year, $80 million deal with the Chiefs last year.

Defensive tackle Fletcher Cox was set to become a free agent this week, but he announced that he is ending his playing career in a social media post on Sunday. The move comes less than a week after center Jason Kelce announced his retirement.
Cox was a first-round pick in 2012 called it an “honor and privilege” to wear an Eagles uniform for the last 12 seasons and thanked Kelce along with other longtime teammates, others in the Eagles organization and the team’s fans for what they’ve meant to him over the course of his career.
“I gave everything I had to this team and to this city,” Cox wrote. “I don’t know what’s next for me, but I do know that I’m forever grateful for my time here in Philadelphia and with the Eagles organization.”

The Colts originally drafted Franklin in the seventh round in 2018. He signed a three-year extension in 2022 and now another three-year extension.
The 27-year-old Franklin is a team captain who rarely leaves the field: He played 100 percent of the Colts’ defensive snaps in 2022, and while he missed one game with a knee injury in 2023, he played 99 percent of defensive snaps in the other 16 games.

Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, cornerback Troy Hill will remain with Carolina on a one-year deal.
Hill, 32, joined the Panthers last August and appeared in 16 games for the club with three starts. He recorded 48 total tackles with six passes defensed, an interception, and a forced fumble. He was on the field for 47 percent of Carolina’s defensive snaps.
Hill had previously played under defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero with the Rams. The Panthers have a new head coach in Dave Canales but retained Evero for the 2024 season.

Buccaneers, K Chase McLaughlin agree to three-year deal
Tampa Bay is re-signing Chase McLaughlin to a three-year deal, according to multiple Monday morning reports.
McLaughlin joined the Bucs late last March on a one-year deal. He had the best season of his young career, hitting 29-of-31 field goals and all 33 of his extra points in 17 games.
McLaughlin, 27, previously spent 2021 with the Browns and 2022 with the Colts. He’s also spent time with the Jaguars, Chargers, Jets, and 49ers.
He’s hit 83 percent of his career field goals and 98 percent of his extra points in 64 career games.

Re: All news NFL
Zuerlein has agreed to a two-year, $8.4 million contract to remain with the Jets, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Last year Zuerlein had a solid season, making 35 of his 38 field goal attempts, including going 5-for-6 from 50 yards and beyond.
The 36-year-old Zuerlein is heading into his third season with the Jets, after having previously played two seasons with the Cowboys and eight seasons with the Rams. Aaron Rodgers recently said he hoped the Jets would re-sign Zuerlein, and the signing is yet another example of the Jets giving Rodgers what he wants.
