L’Jarius Sneed- There’s nothing wrong with my knee

Sneed was traded to the Titans after receiving a franchise tag in Kansas City and he agreed to a new four-year contract with Tennessee, so there didn’t seem to be much concern about reports concerning issues with his knee on the team’s side. On Tuesday, Sneed was asked about them and said that the knee is not a concern for him either.
“Ain’t nothing wrong with my knee,” Sneed said. “I’m fine. I played the whole season. Years before that I played as well. I had a couple problems before, but I’m good right now. Nothing is really wrong with the knee. . . . I know what to do with my knee. I’m coming out here to play ball.”

Chargers sign Ben Mason

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh will be reunited with one of his former Michigan players during his first year back in the NFL.
Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Chargers signed fullback Ben Mason on Tuesday.
Mason played tight end and defensive lineman in addition to fullback during four years as a Wolverine. He ran 37 times for 87 yards and nine touchdowns while also catching a touchdown and making 14 tackles.

Greg Dortch signs ERFA tender with Cardinals

The Cardinals tendered wide receiver Greg Dortch as an exclusive rights free agent this offseason, so he wasn’t going to be signing with another team and he’s now back on the active roster in Arizona.

The team announced that Dortch signed his tender on Wednesday. The move puts Dortch on track to join the team for the start of their offseason workouts this month.

Mayor of Dallas rooting for Chiefs to move back to Dallas - NBC Sports

The Chiefs’ future is very much in doubt after Jackson County, Missouri, voters overwhelmingly rejected a sales tax extension that would have renovated Arrowhead Stadium. Before Tuesday’s vote, Chiefs president Mark Donovan had threatened the team could leave if the measure didn’t pass.

Where would they go if they did move?

Dallas mayor Eric Johnson, who repeatedly has pitched his city as a candidate for an NFL expansion team, posted an invitation to the Chiefs on social media.

“Welcome home, Dallas Texans!” Johnson wrote, adding a smiley face emoji and a hashtag suggesting the team could play in the Cotton Bowl in South Dallas’ Fair Park.

“Dallas was named the top sports city in the United States because we play to win,” Johnson said in a Wednesday to the Dallas Morning News on Wednesday, referencing last year’s Sports Business Journal best sports cities ranking. “As I have said previously, our market is big enough, growing enough, and loves football more than enough to support a second NFL team — especially a franchise [and an owner] with deep roots here.”

“We’re still going to look for safety help,” Campbell said, via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. “That’s not over, either. We know we need some, there again, to bring in some competition in that room. So our eyes are there.”

Campbell noted that 2023 second-round pick Brian Branch can play safety, but the team has been using him in the slot since his arrival in Detroit. Players like Justin Simmons and Quandre Diggs are available as free agents, although the Lions might opt for the younger route by adding to their safety options in the draft.

Bears could sign Caleb Williams now, but he can’t join offseason workouts before draft

If the Bears want Caleb Williams and if Caleb Williams wants the Bears, the two sides don’t have to wait three weeks to make it official. Per the NFL, the rule allowing the team with the first overall pick to sign its eventual selection to a contract before the draft remains on the books.
Of course, the league generally frowns upon the dissemination of advance information regarding the draft. The NFL wants maximum eyeballs on the TV coverage to find out who the pick will be. If the Bears sign Williams, there’s not even a thin shred of drama when the first pick is on the clock.

Steelers agree to terms with TE MyCole Pruitt

It reunites Pruitt with Arthur Smith, who coached Pruitt in Tennessee and Atlanta.
Pruitt, 32, spent the past two seasons with the Falcons. In 2023, he played 17 games with eight starts and made nine catches for 110 yards and a touchdown.
The Vikings selected Pruitt in the fifth round in 2015.
He also has played for the Bears and Texans.
In his career, Pruitt has caught 71 passes for 748 yards and 12 touchdowns.
