Jayden Daniels to visit with Giants on Monday - NBC Sports

Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Daniels will meet with the Giants for a top-30 visit early next week.

That will come before Daniels heads down to visit with the Commanders, which is reportedly happening on Monday and Tuesday.

With the No. 6 overall pick, the Giants have been doing their due diligence on the draft’s top quarterbacks. The team has also been linked to Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy and Washington’s Michael Penix Jr.

General Manager Joe Schoen has said that even though some may assume New York will select a quarterback, the club has other needs.

Deonte Harty agrees to one-year deal with Ravens - NBC Sports

Baltimore is signing Deonte Harty to a one-year deal, according to a report from NFL Media.
Harty, 26, spent last season with the Bills where he was primarily the team’s punt returner. He averaged 12.4 yards on 26 returns, including a 96-yard punt return for a touchdown.
Harty returned just one kick for Buffalo in 2023, but was an All-Pro returner as a rookie in 2019 with the Saints. He averaged 9.4 yards per punt return and 26.8 yards per kick return that season.
He’s averaged 10.4 yards per punt return in his career and 25.2 yards per kick return.
Baltimore’s previous returner, Devin Duvernay, signed with Jacksonville in free agency.

Will the Cowboys draft a quarterback?

Why wouldn’t it? Eight years ago, they targeted Paxton Lynch in round one before settling for Dak Prescott in round four at a time when Tony Romo seemed to be closing in on the end of his career.
This time around, Prescott is one season away from becoming a free agent, and the Cowboys will have no way to keep him on the team. If he wants to leave, he will.
That makes it critical for the Cowboys to have a viable Plan B.
Maybe it’s Cooper Rush. Maybe it’s Trey Lance. Or maybe it’s somebody they like who slips to a spot where the Cowboys opt to squat on someone who could take over, if Dak leaves.

Tyler Lockett agreed to revised contract because “Seattle is home”

Lockett agreed to a revised two-year deal with the team that guaranteed a portion of his salary while shifting $4 million in salary to incentives. The new deal also included a signing bonus and the end result was an $8 million drop in his cap number and Lockett explained why he agreed to the changes during a Wednesday press conference from the team’s facility.

“Seattle is home,’’ Lockett said, via Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times. “Obviously it’s a business and so you’ve got to kind of look and see what is good for them, you see what’s good for yourself, as well. And with everything that I had a chance to be able to do and become, it’s really cool that you hear that the staff wants you to be on the team, as well. . . . [I] try not to get too much into the contract because I’m still kind of in a blessed situation. So everybody kind of talks about the contract or talks about the money or say it’s a pay cut or whatever it is, but it’s enough for us to still be here. It’s enough for them to still want me.’’

Vikings schedule private workout with Jayden Daniels - NBC Sports

Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Vikings have now scheduled a private workout with Daniels, the former LSU quarterback.

Minnesota currently has two first-round picks at No. 11 and No. 23 overall. The team would presumably have to trade up to have a shot at selecting Daniels, who could potentially be selected as high as No. 2 overall by Washington.

The 2023 Heisman trophy winner, Daniels also has visits lined up with the Giants — who own the No. 6 pick — and the Commanders next week. The Patriots, who have No. 3, had Daniels in earlier this week.

Minnesota has a clear need at QB after the departure of Kirk Cousins. They signed Sam Darnold to a one-year deal, but he is far from set in stone as the team’s quarterback of the future.

Nick Chubb agrees to lower base salary in revised contract with Browns - NBC Sports

Browns General Manager Andrew Berry said in January that he didn’t want running back Nick Chubb’s final snap to be the one that saw him suffer a season-ending knee injury last year and that the Browns would “work to keep him on the team” in 2024.

That work has resulted in a revised contract. Chubb was set to make a non-guaranteed salary of $11.775 million during the upcoming season, but NFL Media reports that he has agreed to lower that number in order to remain with the team.

It’s not clear how much of a cut Chubb agreed to take, but the report indicates that he can recoup the amount via undisclosed incentives.

Browns trade Leroy Watson to Titans

Tackle Leroy Watson won’t be with the Browns for the start of their offseason program next week.
Watson was traded to the Titans on Friday. Tennessee announced that they are sending a seventh-round pick, No. 227 overall, to the Browns in exchange for Watson.
The move means Watson will be reunited with offensive line coach Bill Callahan, who left the same position with the Browns to join his son Brian’s staff with the Titans.
