JC Latham to visit with Jets

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that JC Latham will be visiting with the team on Tuesday and Wednesday. Latham started at right tackle for Alabama the last two seasons.
The Jets own the No. 10 pick in the first round and most prognostications about what they’ll use it for focus on the offensive side of the ball. More of them have landed on a wide receiver or tight end Brock Bowers since the team acquired tackles Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses last month, but the need to protect Aaron Rodgers could lead the team in another direction.

Seven teams in the top 13 could be looking at taking quarterbacks - NBC Sports

Will six quarterbacks be taken in round one for the first time since 1983? Well, seven teams picking in the top 13 could be hoping to draft one.
The Bears at No. 1 (Caleb Williams is a given), the Commanders at No. 2 (Jayden Daniels presumably, but they might have too many cooks in the kitchen to do the obvious thing), the Patriots at No. 3, the Giants at No. 6, the Vikings at No. 11, the Broncos at No. 12, and the Raiders at No. 13 are all believed to be thinking about taking a quarterback.
For the Bears and Commanders, it’s a no-brainer because they don’t have clear alternatives to start. The Patriots have Jacoby Brissett, who could in theory handle the job. The Vikings have Sam Darnold, the Broncos have Jarrett Stidham, and the Raiders have Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell.

Cooper DeJean visited with Steelers, Seahawks, Bills, Eagles - NBC Sports

The former Iowa star fractured his fibula during the 2023 season, which meant that he had to delay his Pro Day workout until other players were visiting teams and go for medical rechecks in Indianapolis in the same window. That left time for DeJean to meet with four teams.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that DeJean visited with the Steelers, Seahawks, Bills and Eagles during his truncated schedule of visits.

DeJean ran a 4.42 40 at his Pro Day and tested well across the board, so there shouldn’t be too many concerns about his health heading into next week. There are some questions about where he’ll wind up lining up on the field, but teams looking for secondary help will likely bet on his upside rather than lose too much sleep about his exact spot on the field.

Troy Fautanu visiting Jets Wednesday - NBC Sports

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that former Washington tackle Troy Fautanu is visiting the Jets on Wednesday. The team has also visited with former Alabama tackle JC Latham this week.

The report notes that Fautanu has also met with the Bengals, Ravens, Jaguars, Steelers and Eagles during the pre-draft process. The Jets have the highest first-round pick of those teams at No. 10.

Fautanu started at left tackle for the Huskies over the last two seasons and Washington won the Joe Moore Award for the nation’s top offensive line for the 2023 season.

Report- Darius Slayton wants a new deal, isn't at voluntary workouts - NBC Sports

Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports that Darius Slayton wants a new contract. He has not attended the team’s first voluntary workouts of the offseason this week as he looks for that extension.
Slayton signed a two-year deal with the team last year and received a $2.6 million roster bonus earlier this year. He has a base salary of $2.5 million.
Slayton had 50 catches and a team-high 770 receiving yards last season. He tied Saquon Barkley for the team lead with four touchdown catches.

Roquan Smith- Derrick Henry addition is huge, will help us stick to what we do - NBC Sports

After the Ravens lost the AFC Championship Game to the Chiefs, their offensive game plan came in for criticism.
The team handed the ball off to running backs six times in a game that was close throughout and the lack of running drew poor reviews from head coach John Harbaugh along with outside voices. On Wednesday, linebacker Roquan Smith may have referenced that game plan as well when he answered a question about one of his new teammates.

Derrick Henry signed with the team as a free agent last month and Smith raved about what the running back will mean to the team’s offense.
“I think that’s huge,” Smith said. “I think it’s gonna make us stick to what we do, having a guy like him. Anytime you need a play with him and [quarterback] Lamar [Jackson] back there, I think it’s gonna be crucial. I’m excited. It’s gonna open up a lot for everyone. Going against the guy, I know the type of threat he posed to other defenses. It’s gonna be scary. I’m excited to see.”

UTEP QB Gavin Hardison visiting the Packers today

Hardison underwent Tommy John surgery on his right arm in November. Texas Rangers team physician, Dr. Keith Meister, who also repaired 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy’s elbow, performed the surgery.
Hardison, who was injured in a loss to UNLV on Sept. 23, already was throwing last month.
He threw for 7,963 yards with 40 touchdowns and 33 interceptions, while completing 53.7 percent of his passes in his career with the Miners.

Georgia TE Brock Bowers meeting with Chargers today

Georgia tight end Brock Bowers is visiting with the Chargers today, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Pre-draft visits are ending, and Bowers previously visited the Bears and Jets.
The Chargers, who own the fifth pick, currently have Will Dissly, Hayden Hurst and Donald Parham Jr. at the position.
Bowers is the top tight end prospect and one of the top prospects regardless of position.

    https://uni-watch.com/2024/04/17/col...een-is-banned/

As you may recall, the Eagles and Packers will be facing each other on Sept. 6 in São Paulo, Brazil — the NFL first-ever game in South America. The Eagles are the designated home team, so they would presumably opt to wear their green jerseys.

Just one problem: The game will be taking place in Corinthians Arena, home of the Brazilian soccer team Corinthians. And according to several reports, green apparel is banned in that stadium. Per this article:
Because of their fierce rivalry with fellow Brazilian soccer club Palmeiras, Corinthians have an informal ban on the color green, which is worn by their arch-nemesis.
Players and fans are forbidden from wearing green, with former Corinthians striker Jo even fined by the club in 2021 for donning green soccer cleats.

LOL...nice move. 3 league teams wear green, and the league sends two of them to this place. Dumbasses.
