Dak Prescott meets with police in rape investigation
Via Clarence E. Hill, Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Prescott has met with police who are investigating the situation.
“We reported their criminal behavior to the Prosper Police Department and have been fully cooperative with them,” attorney Levi McCathern said, per Hill. “When Ms. Shores doubled down on her false claim of sexual assault and reported it to the Dallas Police Department, we proactively reached out to cooperate with them as well. Dak has nothing to hide. He did nothing wrong. . . . He has and will continue to fully cooperate with any investigation, knowing the truth is on his side.”

Drew Ogletree off Commissioner Exempt list, back with Colts
Ogletree was placed on the Commissioner Exempt list in late December after being arrested on domestic violence charges and charged with two felonies. Those charges were dismissed with prejudice last month and the NFL moved to restore him to active duty, Colts General Manager Chris Ballard said, via Stephen Holder of ESPN.com, that Ogletree is off the exempt list and back on the team’s 90-man roster. Ogletree is taking part in the team’s offseason workouts.

Bo Nix could slide out of round one
Based on discussions with multiple sources with knowledge of the manner in which the first round is likely to unfold, the former Oregon quarterback is the most likely to slide.
That said, someone could trade into the bottom of round one to get Nix. For teams, it’s better to get a player in the final spots of the round than to wait for round two, since first-round picks carry the potential fifth-year option.
Many think the Broncos would be a good fit for Nix. Would they take him at No. 12? Would they trade down and take him later in the round? Or would they try to climb back into the round later?

Report- Despite receiving inquiries, Broncos do not plan to trade Courtland Sutton
Per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, multiple teams have inquired about acquiring Sutton but the Broncos do not plan to trade him.
Sutton, 28, has two years left on his current contract. Broncos General Manager George Paton said earlier this week that Sutton “is in a good place.”
The No. 40 overall pick of the 2018 draft, Sutton caught 59 passes for 772 yards with 10 touchdowns last season. He’s recorded 298 receptions for 4,259 yards with 24 TDs over the last six years.

Matthew Slater gets full-time job with Patriots
Slater, who was previously working as an advisor to the Patriots, is now a full-time employee, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.com.
Reiss reports that Slater will be the “right-hand man” to new head coach Jerod Mayo.
Both arrived via the 2008 draft. Mayo was a first-round pick; Slater was a fifth-rounder. Technically a receiver (he had one career catch, for 46 yards), Slater was a long-time special-teams captain and an excellent special-teams player.
Reiss explain that Slater will be a “sounding board on football and team building,” and that he’ll assist with “people development.”
It’s a smart move for Mayo. Head coaches need key assistants who are both competent and trustworthy. Mayo and Slater are close friends; the trust is implied. Now, they’ll try to do as coaches what they did as players.

The Cowboys keep trying to change the meaning of the term "all-in" - NBC Sports
Jerry Jones hasn’t put his football team in the Super Bowl, or even in the NFC Championship game, since 1995. Keeping his franchise at an extremely high degree of national prominence for the past 30 years without significant on-field success is arguably more impressive than winning a Super Bowl during those three decades.

Patriots posture for "unprecedented deal" at No. 3 - NBC Sports
It might take more than flowers to get Robert Kraft to send the third overall pick to the Vikings.
The Patriots are posturing for an “unprecedented deal” to move out of the third overall pick. That’s the term used in Sunday’s item from Mike Reiss of ESPN.com.
They want a “blockbuster” offer, per Reiss. Otherwise, they’ll draft a quarterback of their own in that spot.
It’s hard not to view it as puffing. No one knows whether any of the top prospects will become franchise quarterbacks. No one knows where the best quarterbacks in football will come from.

Xavier Legette- Panthers told me they’re hoping I make it to second round
Legette said that he’s spent a lot of time with the Panthers over the course of the pre-draft process and that the team has suggested that they will be picking him if he remains on the board through the end of the first round on Thursday night.
“I’ve met with the Panthers about four or five times,” Legette said, via John Crumpler of USA Today. “The relationship, it just keeps continuing to grow. They’re really hoping I can make it the second round. They keep on telling me if I’m sitting at 33, they’re gonna take me.”
Legette had 71 catches for 1,255 yards and seven touchdowns for the Gamecocks last season. If other teams want to see if that production translates to their offense, they may have to jump the Panthers to get a chance to see the wideout in their uniform.
