    Re: All news NFL

The fact that multiple NFL stadiums will convert to pristine, high-end grass surfaces in order to host FIFA World Cup games makes the argument tougher for the league. But it all comes down to bargaining power. If NFL venues want to host those matches, NFL venues must have acceptable grass surfaces.
For NFL games, there’s no equivalent business impetus for the owners to do what the players want. It’s something that could, in theory, be handled at the bargaining table. If it’s an issue on which management simply won’t yield, then the players would have to be willing to strike over it.
    They likely won’t.
That’s the biggest problem for the NFLPA. The owners can and will shut the sport down for a year to get what they want. The players won’t.
Until they will, they likely won’t be getting grass in all stadiums — unless they make some other major concession that the owners deem to be a fair tradeoff.

NFLPA president Jalen Reeves-Maybin believes shift to grass fields "can happen" - NBC Sports

Kentavius Street signs with Falcons - NBC Sports

Defensive lineman Kentavius Street is sticking around Atlanta.
The Falcons traded for Street during the 2023 season and the team announced that he signed a new contract with them on Monday. The team did not announce the terms of the deal.
Street and a 2025 seventh-round pick went from the Eagles to the Falcons in exchange for a 2024 sixth-round pick last October in the wake of Falcons defensive tackle Grady Jarrett’s season-ending knee injury. He started five games before landing on injured reserve with a pectoral injury.

Pennsylvania governor pushes for Pittsburgh to host the 2026 or 2027 NFL draft - NBC Sports

Shapiro wrote a letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to say that the state and the Steel City are an ideal location for the draft.
“Pittsburgh has established itself as one of the most dynamic cities on the East Coast — and the birthplace of professional football,” Shapiro said. “Pittsburgh is the best choice in the country to host the NFL Draft.”
Shapiro said the draft and its surrounding activities would have 350,000 visitors and an impact on the Pittsburgh-area economy worth $100 million.
For half a century, the draft was always in New York City, and although the event’s stature grew as a major television event, it was never seen as a big deal as an in-person fan experience. But in 2015 and 2016 the draft moved to Chicago and was accompanied by a major outdoor fan attraction, and since then it has been viewed by both the NFL and the host cities as major tourism event.

Will Steelers pursue Brandon Aiyuk? - NBC Sports

Via Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh, the Steelers “have looked into” the possibility of trading for Aiyuk. Coincidentally, or not, Aiyuk has tweeted (or posted or whatever) at Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, asking whether he agrees with those who say that Aiyuk and Tomlin look alike.
Aiyuk, a second-team All-Pro in 2023, is due to make only $14.12 million in 2024. The Steelers recently traded receiver Diontae Johnson, so they have a need. They also have a knack at finding receivers in the draft.
