Tua Tagovailoa shows up for Dolphins' OTAs - NBC Sports

OTAs are voluntary, but Tagovailoa had indicated he would be there. Unlike the earlier portion of the offseason program, full-team on-field drills are allowed at OTAs, and coaches always want their starting quarterbacks to be there. Tagovailoa is.

Still, the question remains about whether Tagovailoa and the Dolphins are on the same page about a potential contract extension. Tagovailoa is heading into the fifth and final year of his rookie contract and is guaranteed a base salary of $23.17 million this season. He’s going to want a contract that secures his status as the Dolphins’ franchise quarterback for years to come, and that guarantees him more than $23.17 million a year for multiple years. Until the Dolphins and Tagovailoa agree to a long-term deal, there will be questions about his status in Miami — and about how much voluntary work he’s willing to do.

For the Jaguars, the sooner they get Trevor Lawrence signed, the better - NBC Sports

Time only makes it cheaper if the quarterback suffers a career-altering injury or otherwise loses his fastball. Typically, waiting makes it more expensive. Primarily because other quarterback deals keep driving the price higher and higher. Not to mention an ever-growing salary cap.

Over the weekend, ESPN pegged the eventual number for a Lawrence extension at more than $50 million per year. Which is sort of obvious, given the market. The real question is whether Lawrence, by waiting a year, could get the number to $60 million.

Delayed division games might work to Steelers' benefit - NBC Sports

First, the other quarterbacks in the division are very good, when healthy. They each, however, have a history of serious injury. The later in the year the Bengals, Browns, and Ravens appear on the schedule, the greater the chance one of more of them won’t have their starting quarterbacks. (We’re not trying to jinx anyone. We’re just stating facts.)

Second, with an entirely new depth chart at the quarterback position and a brand-new offense, it’s better for the Steelers to defer the all-important division games until later in the year.

The Steelers have plenty of games that they’ll have a chance to win, before the division games roll around. At the risk of prematurely attaching wins and losses to games to be played months from now, there aren’t a lot of obvious Ls lurking in: at Falcons, at Broncos, vs. Chargers, at Colts, vs. Cowboys, at Raiders, Jets, Giants, at Commanders.

Report- Rashee Rice to attend, participate in Chiefs OTAs - NBC Sports

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Rice will attend the team’s OTAs and that he is expected to participate in all activities.

Rice faces eight felony charges for his role in a March car crash in Dallas, Texas. Police in the city also said that Rice is also under investigation for an alleged assault earlier this month.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell indicated during the draft that the league will let the legal process play out with regard to possible discipline of Rice.

Rice led the Chiefs wideouts with 79 catches for 938 yards and seven touchdowns last season. The Chiefs have added Hollywood Brown and first-round pick Xavier Worthy to their receiving group this offseason.

Titans targeting February 2027 for new stadium completion - NBC Sports

Via Turron Davenport of ESPN, the Titans are targeting Feb. 27, 2027 or sooner for the new Nissan Stadium to be completed.

“We’ve already hit the ground running,” said Reggie Polk of Polk and Associates Construction, one of the construction companies involved in the project, via Davenport. “We have a lot of great trade partners that have already mobilized and they’re getting started. If you’ve been by the new stadium, you’ll see that we are already demoing out the existing parking lot and we’re having meetings all day every day to make sure that our teams logistically are coordinating well. And we’re communicating that message back to the Titans.

“But progress is rolling. We already have our end date in mind. And we’re still working through some design elements, but we just have such a great team there and everything’s going really well.”

Kendrick Bourne out of Patriots' offseason program as he recovers from torn ACL - NBC Sports

Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo said today that Bourne will not be on the practice field this spring.

That’s not a big surprise, as the torn ACL happened in Week Eight, and ACL recoveries often take close to a full year. If Bourne is fully cleared for training camp, he and the Patriots would have to be pleased with that.

Despite the ACL tear, the Patriots signed Bourne to a three-year deal to a three-year contract in March, which strongly suggests they expect him to be good to go when the time comes. Even if it’s not quite time just yet.

Eagles sign second-round pick Cooper DeJean - NBC Sports

Philadelphia announced on Monday that defensive back Cooper DeJean has put pen to paper on his four-year rookie deal.
DeJean, 21, was the No. 40 overall pick in the second round out of Iowa. He was the Big Ten defensive back of the year and the conference’s return specialist of the year in 2023. He also was a two-time, first-team All-Big Ten honoree.
He registered seven interceptions — three of which were returned for touchdowns — and 13 passes defensed in his college career.

Paris Johnson moves to left tackle for Cardinals - NBC Sports

Paris Johnson played right tackle after joining the team as a first-round pick last year, but he will be on the move after the team signed Jonah Williams and released D.J. Humphries this offseason.
“Jonah’s gonna go right, Paris is gonna go left. We’ll see how that looks,” Gannon said at a press conference.
Gannon said he thinks the alignment is going to be good for the team, but added that he reserves the right to change his mind. Williams played both tackle spots over the course of his time with the Bengals while Johnson played left tackle at Ohio State.

Report- Tee Higgins won't sign his tender before next week's OTAs - NBC Sports

Tee Higgins can’t join the Bengals until he signs his tender. The receiver hasn’t signed his tender and doesn’t intend to anytime soon, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
As expected, Higgins is not expected to sign the tender before next week’s organized team activities.
Higgins, the only franchise-tagged player who has not received a long-term extension this offseason, is scheduled to make $21.8 million on the one-year, fully guaranteed franchise tag.
Higgins, 25, played 12 games last season, missing four games with a fractured rib and then Week 18 with a hamstring issue. He caught 42 passes for 656 yards and five touchdowns, all career lows.
