I saw it on YouTube earlier. Kinda shocking but dead on.
Don’t want to be disrespected? Win games.
Mace (12-07-2023)
First that will never happen. During the drought, we had plenty of years where we had great defense and no offense, and the best it ever got us was 9-7. Defense can't win games in the modern NFL.
Second, your premise is absurd. You made up a scenario, then guessed how I would have reacted if your fake scenario was real. Gimme a ****ing break.
Third, this team deserves to be **** on. We were preseason SB favorites. Instead, we're probably not even going to make the playoffs, and if we do, the SB is a virtual impossibility because it will mean winning 3 road games. Josh's numbers against Philly and Denver didn't get us wins. Stats don't get us into the playoffs. Josh could throw for 1000 yards and score 100 points every game- it doesn't matter if the D gives up 1100 yards and 101 points.

But Josh didn’t lose those 2 games. They were won. D couldn’t close them out. Not admitting that fact is myopic.
Look, it's simple:
When the team wins, people will focus on Allen's gaudy offensive stats.
When the team loses, people will focus on the turnovers.
Josh played really well against Philly and it would be really difficult to argue that his 1 turnover cost us the game when the D played so poorly. But you could argue that if he DIDN'T make that one mistake, we would have won despite the poor defensive play. So, that's what people are focused on. Is it fair? No. But he's the face of the franchise and one of the best QB's in the NFL. When the team isn't winning, he's the one under the microscope.

Why does the D get a pass?
If Buffalo wins Sunday and say 1 pick each side… do we start hearing about picks thrown by Mahomes losing 4-6 games?
D shouldn't get a pass no, but while the Bills have prime Allen, the perception will always be that we should have gotten more points. You even hear McDermott echo that with his side eye offense comments while deflecting from his D, the general perception out there is that Allen is having an MVP season, and then it flatlines on 6-6.....and then it comes back to his turnovers because our poor D is struggling with injuries, not like a defensive guru couldn't find solutions.
Is it right ? No. But that's the perception. Some are homing in on McDermott finally, but Allen is the easy target.

The offense under-achieved in every game the team has lost, except for Philadelphia.
Far be it from me to defend a defense I have been criticizing as over-rated for several seasons, but all of those games...and a couple of wins...shouldn't have come down to make or break on the last play of game and wouldn't have if Josh wasn't turning the ball over and the offense was putting points on the board like they should.

Playing the outcome but the tw prior zero cover blitzes got them 2 that kick.
Dunno bud, that's the same side eye that Allen's not doing enough when they know already who and what Allen is after 6 years. It also encompasses their offensive playcalling. They rev and score productively when they go fast temp.
If and or when it does come down to make it or break it, you need that defense to seal it, that's what champions do. It's still a plug and play defensive scheme with less capable replacements doing the same things, because the defensive HC can't adapt to the playstyle of his jewel franchise QB.
The common perception is that the Bills are more aggressive under McDermott, but blitz 23%, the 4th lowest rate in the NFL. They do it inappropriately at the wrong times and it costs us, because McD is not growing.
Allen is who he is, he's a gunslinger, that D needs to be able to seal a game with a stop instead of crumpling predictably in a soft prevent 10 yards past the line of scrimmage.
