2024 Mock Draft Thread...Its that time

A very good and deep WR class, it will come in handy because The O needs a deep threat. WIth the cap situation, the DL will need to be rebuilt, and a new safety or two will be needed. No 3rd round pick but a half ton of late round picks for sleepers and room to double up on positions.

Traded down from 28 to 35 and picked up pick 66.

    35. Xavier Leggett WR South Caronlina - Comparisons vary between DK Metcalf to Mike Evans to AJ Brown, any of whom would be a steal as a deep threat. He's got the size 6'3" and over 220lb and speed, he had one of the fastest MPH times recorded this year. But pump the brakes, he comes with risk, most glaringly only having 1 year of production. IF there is good reason, not the least of which was having a QB to throw to him, it might not be an issue. He's got power, he's got explosiveness, he can leap over a defender for a contested throw and his arm length makes any DB's arms look short. Well worth the risk.

    60. Sedrick Van Pran C - Georgia. The draft has a number of good centers..a perfect time to pick Morse's successor. Van Pran i as solid as it comes. An All American, started 43 straight games for the Dawgs.

    66. T'VOndre Sweat - DT Texas. the trade down paid dividends. Mammoth and he knows it...a good first piece at a youth movement among the DTs. He begs for a double team and keeps people off Bernard. I wasn't expecting him here, I was going to take S COle Bishop from Utah, but too big of a steal to pass up.

    99. Javon Baker WR UCF. 6'2 210 and more than enough speed to get downfield...and the ability to make the contested catch when he's down there. 1st team All Big 12 with over 1100 yards and an amazing 21 ypc avg. Josh has some down field targets now.

    128. Javon Solomon Edge Troy
Led college football with 16 sacks last year and had 80 pressures over the past 2 years, 117 over the past 3. Short at 6'0 but with 33 inch arms, 250 lbs and runs about a 4.5 40. Can bend, can use his hands. When I watched them against Kansas State, he wasn't being set out wide in a sprinters stance, like you'd think. It was more of a read and react stance...but he was getting pressure and beating blocks. He could be lethal in a wide 9 position.

    158. Trey Taylor- S Air Force. 3 year starter, 2nd team all Mountain West in 2022 and Jim Thorpe award winner this year. won the Pat Tillman award at the Shrine bowl.. 2nd cousin to Ed Reed. You couldn't build a better McD player.

    161. Mohammed Kamera- Edge Colorado State. Like doubling up on the Javon Solomon pick. similar size/speed combo. An incredible 112 QB pressures over the past 2 years and 14 sacks this year. I listened to someone last week who was recounting his several conversations he's had with the man. His intelligence and his attention to detail is off the charts. between one of these two ...we got our this year's Ya Ya Diaby.

    199. Nehmiah Pritchett DB AUburn 6'0 190 and the model of consistency. What sells me on him is his QB rating when targeted:

    2019 85.4
    2020 48.6
    2021 83.4
    2022 72.0
    2023 54.8

    201. Jahdae Barron - S Texas. Sweat gets a teammate and we get a little more insurance at safety. Short at 5'11 but fast, and a very good athlete. Loves playing run support and like Pritchett, he has a very good QB rating when targeted.

    In the past 4 seasons.

    56
    62
    62
    71

    205. Anim Danwah OT Howard Sweat frown s a little when he finds out he's not our biggest draft choice. Danwah comes in at 6'7" and 365. Played in the Shrine Bowl. A few players are missing, suspected he ate them.

    245. Walter Rouse OT Oklahoma
Transferred from Stanford and had a really good year last season. only 1 sakc and only 4 hurries. A good blend of size, strength and agility. Well worth the pick at 245.
