The Bills began Monday with $36.726 million in cap space, and they now have added to that.
The team did a conversion on offensive lineman Connor McGovern’s contract, guaranteeing his deal for 2024 and clearing $3.74 million of cap space, Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports.
McGovern signed a three-year, $22.35 million contract with the Bills a year ago after he spent his first four seasons with the Cowboys, who made him a third-round pick.

When did they get $37m in cap space? I thought they were in the hole for $40m+?
The NFL announced that the 2024 cap is $255M. That’s more than the $242M figure most cap experts were using to predict teams’ cap space. So our actual over the cap number is less than predicted by about $13M.
Good news overall. Benefits all other teams too, but does reduce the size of the hole we need to get out of

We won’t get completely ****ed the way it looked a short time ago, but the teams that are already better than us get to improve whereas we just get to maintain.
