Joe B was predicting the Bills would try and get him to take a pay cut. I'm glad they just moved on. That was the easiest 4.6 saved ever.

Makes sense. Too bad it didn't work out as well as we would have liked.

Not surprised.
Sucks to be a running back these days.
A healthy Hines with Brady would've been cool to see. Hard to argue with the cap savings though.

Liked the guy but too expensive for a backup running back. He’s good but replaceable. And could still be back if he strikes out elsewhere.
Maybe we asked him to take a pay cut, he said no, and so we told him to go test the market
Mu guess is Bills release him with an injury designation since he can't pass a physical then re-sign him once healthy.
The Things that unite us are far greater than the things that divide us. Just my 2 Cents.

I was expecting a reworked deal also, but this is probably for the best. Take the full cap savings now and re-evaluate a role with the team later when he's fully healthy.
Special teams is becoming a non factor. We need to stop prioritizing special teams play for tweeners on the roster.
Lou Saban: You can get it done, you can get it done. And what’s more, you’ve gotta get it done.
Can't afford a guy like Hines when you're trying to ketchup to the Chiefs
Of course you (and I ) have no idea if the Bills DID try and get him to agree with a pay cut, he refused, and that's why they decided (at least for now) to move on.
This is what Joe B's astute explanation was (of course, you make assumptions based on NOT actually reading what he wrote)....
Step 9: RB Nyheim Hines pay cut
Hines will be coming off a season-ending injury, but Beane said the running back is in their plans in 2024. But his salary is a bit of an albatross, considering the injury and his role on the team before the injury. Hines took a pay cut last offseason to remain with the team, and it would be fair to expect something similar this year. Hines’ current $5.16 million cap hit cannot stay as is if he’ll be on the team next year — especially since the Bills could save $4.6 million to flat-out cut him.
It is the height of smug childishness to diss the best Bills sports beat writer I know of.
How about you guys do what he did....dish up a "15 step plan to escape cap woes for 2024 and beyond"
Explain why you suggest each one....how much money it will save under the cap and what short and long term effects it may have on the Bills competitiveness.
Come on....put up or STFU!!!!
