All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
If a rookie can play what difference does the position make? Lindebaum and Humphrey are two recent examples off the top of my head that started and excelled as rookie centers.
We know in your world it’s always cloudy but here in the real world the sun shines quite often.
(also nowhere did I say the rookie will definitely start, just that he’d get a chance to compete, although if he shows out he could certainly win the job)
My world? Lmao. It’s insane to think that any rookie C can come in and be as consistent for Josh as Morse was.
For example the two examples I provided BOTH graded out SIGNIFICANTLY better than Mitch as ROOKIES in 2022 and then widened the gap in 2023. Insanity.
Grades by who by what criteria? And even if that’s true, it’s still dependent on a) that C being available when we draft and b) Beane actually making that selection
and it would be a stupid move , McGovern hasn't played center in the NFL not to mention when you do that your making 2 changes on the line instead of 1,,, the O-line was the only real stability last year now lets screw that up..
Im for getting younger but they should have brought in a center last year to groom.
Firstly, (Mace) it's not a rumor. Secondly, it's not stupid. For those of us who remember rookie Eric Wood's first game. At least McGovern has played many NFL games at a high level. Not stupid at all. Smart, in fact. He will learn what he needs to in OTAs and camp. And the Bills will surely draft a young prospect for the IOL. So no worries there. They should have done this 2 years ago.

If something like this were done while Whaley was in charge it would have been stupid, because that guy seemed to just throw stuff against the wall hoping it would work. It didn’t seem like there ever was a plan.
With Beane everything is systematic. Does everything he does work? Of course not, but at least there’s a plan and those plans have worked to the tune of four straight division titles.

…and when you inevitably lose an argument and subsequently move the goal posts I know it’s time to stop feeding you señor troll
The Bills have just as good a roster as any team in the NFL, including the three time SB winner KC...EXCEPT at QB....in particular THE difference why the Bills lost to KC in the last game of the year was because Josh Allen simply did not rise to the occasion at the end of the game, like Mahomes does almost all of the time.
MAHOMES is why KC has won three SB's and MAHOMES is why KC has made it to the AFCC game every year he has been starter. The facts are irrefutable.
Josh Allen is capable of rising closer and equaling the level of Mahomes (on a consistent basis like Mahomes has done in every one of his six years as starter) and as long as he is QB of the Bills they will have just a good chance of getting to and wining the SB as any team in the NFL.
The McBeane era has brought more than enough surrounding Josh to have the Bills winning AFCE title after AFCE title, and getting to the playoffs the second most of ANY current NFL team....five years is a row, second only to KC's nine (six of which were with Mahomes and the three before than, without Mahoems, KC never got past the Div round)
The Bills core is strong, and just the past two drafts has produced several starters that are on a path for be significant pieces in a perennially contending level team.
The Bills even won the AFCE for the 4th year in a row and snagged the #2 seed while their defense was devastated by significant injuries....while KC had some of the fewest games missed by starters.
The "0-6 with Josh" is dumb beyond measure as I pointed out here.
I agree, they say there gonna move McGovern to center which i think is stupid, you do that you have 2 position changes instead of 1.
Beane knew that the team was going to be well over the cap in 2024. I think that the plan all along was to move McGovern to center (possibly his most natural position) after 2023 for cost savings. He did play center in college and took some snaps there for Dallas as well. Morse is on the wrong side of 30 and has a history of concussions - one more and he might be done. Plus, Edwards seems to be a good fit at guard since the running game is being re-established.

Now you’re just not making sense. There are at least 3 teams in the AFC alone that had better rosters than us before all the cap cuts.

What are you talking about? We have no one currently on the roster equal to or better than Morse. You think he’ll be easy to replace, I disagree…. But it doesn’t matter because either way, there’s no guarantee that we will be able to find an adequate replacement.
This team has a lot of work to do to close the talent gap between us and the Chiefs and no cap space to do it. It’s much easier to call me a troll than to face that reality.
No team failed and at the end of the season proclaimed it was lack of quality center play.
Alabama did at the college level.
The argument could be made Feliciano hurt San Fran, he's a back-up in the middle not a starter (and I like Mongo).
There would be less hand-wringing over the offensive line if Beane's "experiments" with shuffling had better results in the past, or an obvious plan was in place instead of the appearance of making-do or winging it.
