Think he's playing with the media.

Will be here or not, is what it is. Would be great if they actually use him a whole season. He is one of the few actually rabid about winning as his main priority and not all happy with it will be fine sooner or later.

No gripes with diggs. His eyes are on the prize....not oh we will be fine in a game or three.

I have no concerns about Diggs. And I doubt he’s having a hard time with all the money he’s making.

There’s no dead cap if they trade him but it’s unlikely that anyone will want his cap hit.

The Bears are getting their QB's for free these days 1st pick overall .... maybe?

Fields is gone there is an opening.

We could trade Diggs for a 3rd this year and a 5th next.

I'd take the Bears 2nd or 3rd this year and 4th or 5th next year for Diggs.

They have the cheapest QB ...... rookie contract with the 1st overall staring them in the face.

Apparently I misunderstood the cap rules.

Any trade would have to be very lucrative if we lose a player of his caliber AND have to eat dead cap when we are already hurting for cap room.

31 million but that's only 2.3 million more than his current cap hit. Maybe he's a big enough pain that it's worth taking the hit this year. The fact that they haven't restructured him says a lot IMO. If they planned to keep him past this year they'd of restructured him.

Bottom line: Short of an absolute massive meltdown where they can no longer have him here, this is all media garbage. He might be unhappy, but both he and the Bills know that unless he agrees to some changes to his contract he cannot and will not be traded or cut this year.

The reason he was not restructured this year when we could have used that huge cap space? They are preserving the “out” after next season.

This whole situation has clarified some things to me:

1. Diggs was not injured and was not giving full effort the last half of the season. His double teams claim was proven false by the tape.

2. The team is stuck with him one more year, but didn’t want to restructure to get that 13mil in cap space because they wanted to ensure they still have the out after next season.

I would be shocked at a post June 1 trade (30 year old WR who stank up the last half of the season who is on a huge extension) or release.

They are married for another year

Thing is, what’s he unhappy about? If he gets traded, the money is the same and none of the teams that are better than us can afford him. If he gets cut, no one is gonna pay him what we are so it’ll be less money. In terms of both winning and getting paid, Buffalo is the best place for him right now.

OPI, I think that his base salary goes to the team he’s traded to, but because the Bills restructured him already that’s where the dead cap comes in, regardless. Something like that. If they wait until after June 1 to cut or trade him, his cap hit this year is like 2 million, and pushes all that dead cap to next year
