If anyone is sweating us not drafting WR high…

…after picking up Samuel (and you’re not loving that pickup).

Here’s some info that should bring you comfort. I have zero doubts that we’re still grabbing a stud 1 or 2.

I'm thinking Xavier Leggette. He's 6'1" and 221#, runs a 4.39 and has a 40" vertical jump. Could possibly be had after a trade down.

Still need to draft one imo.

Especially if they think this is Diggs last year here.

I agree. I'm hoping the moves at WR don't make them think they're set. They can address other needs (S, CB, C) in late rounds.

I’ve been hyping Leggette for months now…I’m personally wary of Franklins light weight. I am however very encouraged the team’s investing so much time in investigating receivers (who are going to go 1-2) when there was a bit of doubt.

My preference would be a coin toss between Leggette/Thomas Jr. I wouldn’t hate the selection of Franklin as long as it was in the second.

I sure hope we make it a priority.

For the 80th time, Samuel is a slot guy, not a #1 or even #2

Not sure what you mean by bolded. Meaning the Bills are going to use a 1st or 2nd on one?

I disagree. At 5'11" and 196# with 4.31 speed, he can certainly play outside as the #2.

yes in the first or second round. You can get lucky in lower rounds but even when you hit on those later guys they’ll almost always just be good, not stars, not guys that can dominate games.

That is somewhat short sighted. Just because he was used mainly (74.6% of the time over 2022 & 2023) in the slot in Washington, does not mean that is all he can do.

Diggs was used in the slot 30% last year.

Samuel also showed a lot of versatility by lining up in the backfield.

Samuel gives Joe Brady the opportunity to do all kinds of various formations....and there is little doubt that he improved the WR room in a substantial way. Moving on from 3 of the 5 receivers from 2023 shows the Bills are paying attention to what is obvious. The need to remake the WR room.

That's the beauty of this signing. It's obvious Joe Brady loves the guy and it's no surprise that he had his best year of his career when he had Brady as OC in Carolina.

Like everyone in the sports world knows, the Bills need to draft a WR. Where they do so is the only unknown. This years draft class is deep with WR's. Going to be a very compelling draft.

He will play the majority out of the slot. You know this, I know this. He's most likely not going to be the starting outside WR opposite of Diggs.

Oh yeah. But can any of us say exactly what the use of WR's looks like???

    Diggs is the unquestioned #1.

Are the Bills gong to have one main guy that "starts opposite of Diggs"?!?!?

Your guess is as good as mine.

Hopefully that question is answered by the draft.

Diggs will have to be replaced eventually, and honestly the only way that makes sense is to draft a guy and succeed while he's cheap enough.

I'm not drafting Leggette until late 2nd at the earliest with his one year of decent production. You're drafting traits more than skill at this point. He could end up being good but he's a higher risk than some of these guys. I would need to really do my homework on Leggette.

Depends on what they envision Hollins' role will be. If he's viewed as a slot only, having him, Samuel and Shakir as slots isn't good use of resources. And typically a WR can't play outside because he's not strong enough to beat the jam at the LOS or doesn't have the speed to make CBs think twice about doing it. Samuel has 4.31 speed and no CB is pressing him.

Te #Bills will have a private workout with Troy Franklin scheduled. Franklin, who was sick at the combine, impressed scouts and his pro day and weighed back in the mid-180s.

Last year the Bills did a Private Workout with Zay Flowers, and did a Top 30 PreDraft visit with WRs
Jordan Addison, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Tank Dell, Jalin Hyatt and Justin Shorter.

We ended up drafting Shorter in the 5th. Hopefully this year will be different.
