Not gonna react too much to this unless we get more proof but two scary things:
1. Most of us wanted Golisano to sell. Pegula turned out to be a far worse owner, so “different” isn’t always “better.”
2. What if a new owner wants to move? Attendance is down (although we all know it will go back up as soon as they start winning again), the arena is falling apart and likely will need to be replaced within the next 5 years.
I’m not very connected to WNY anymore but I imagine it’s a very short list of people who could afford to buy them and would want to keep them where they are.
