ah... maybe? as i said. i don't have a good feel for him either way. he didn't have anywhere near the red flags, and even had some positives, but if push came to shove im not sure i spend a top 5 pick on him. 10-25? yeah, if i needed a QB i might in that range. actually if i need a QB I probably take a flier on him anywhere in this draft, because no one looks like a winner in it. but in a normal draft with some talent at QB in it? Lets put it this way. When Mahomes came out he was the only QB in that draft i liked. and I wasn't sure i'd be happy with him where the bills were drafting because he looked like such a hit/miss guy. On draft night I got better with the idea of the bills taking him because of how the draft fell, and i remember saying a few picks before we traded it to KC that "I can live with him being our pick," and even said after we traded the pick that i hoped we didn't live to regret it.
Why? Because mahomes legit made me stand up and say wow with his play on the field. dude made some absurdly bigboy throws, some crazy passes that you just don't see. and he seemed to read defenses well (for as limited a chance he got at TA&M. But he scared me cause his mechanics were **** and tam didn't ask him to do much reading of defenses. So he was the pinnacle of hit/miss in my mind.
I never got excited over Daniels. But i also never got huge warning signs watching his tape like i did EVERY OTHER qb in this draft. I'm surprisingly neutral on him. But i think in the end, of all the QBs in this draft he probably has the highest likelyhood to excel.
BTW: Maye is a ****ing joke. pats just buried themselves with that pick
