That means that about 30+ players have no chance of sticking. The Bills ABSOLUTELY have "the luxury" (in reality, it's not a "luxury" at all) of trying out some superior athletes that one may be good enough to develop on the practice squad.
Ridiculous and simplistic to even think at this stage of the program we have the luxury of years to teach people how to play football. You use those spots to try people who actually play the game.....so...they can actually play the game if needed. It's that simple to the other teams we can't get past and should be to you as well.

No, it's not. Not in the least. That's what the practice squad is about.

Either way both teams RIP if they lose their #1.

          You're worried about guys 87-90? Don't.

Here are some of the backups for the some of the better QB's....

            Mahomes - Carson Wentz
            Lamar Jackson - Josh Johnson
            Aaron Rodgers - Tyrod Taylor
            Joe Burrow - Jake Browning
            C.J. Stroud - Davis Mills
            Trevor Lawrence - Mac Jones
            Justin Herbert - Easton Stick
            Jalen Hurts - Kenny Pickett

And on and on and on. None of them are appreciably better than Trubisky.

In any event, the discussion of the roster depth was in context to the Bills trying out some superior athletes that do not have football experience.
Geez. Josh Johnson is still out there?

Wouldn't you prefer experienced players at the sport ? Why not for high level competition with a championship goal ? If you figure you can waste three spots, why not Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Mike Tyson because it doesn't matter anyway. Do other contenders do this for the heck of it? I guess I don't see it.

Props to the posters here with two eyes and a functioning brain. You want actual football players in here. If in the future teams get 120 roster spots then it still doesn’t change the fact that you damn well better field 120 football players instead of trying to obtain the movie rights to a Hollywood story that will never materialize.

Easy boss. It's not like it's never happened that players have made the NFL without playing college football.

In reality, the "posters here with two eyes and a functioning brain" KNOW that "actual superior athletes" can be developed into solid NFL players.

41% of the 90 players in training camp will NOT make the 53 man roster. Even considering the 16 man practice squad, 23% of the players in camp will not stick with the team.

If there is ANY hope that a stellar athletes can, in fact, transition to football, it would be NFL personal malpractice not to try.

Of course any semblance of a clue for best practices for NFL personal management is NOT your...uhhh....strong suit., In fact, if any NFL team runs their team like you opine, they would almost assuredly be mired in crappiness for years and years.
