    It was reported that MacLean wanted to be paid $600,000 annually — up $200, 000 from his previous salary. Don Meehan, MacLean's agent, said that figure was inaccurate.
    I'll guarantee, Don Cherry won't be the same without his straight man, Ron.

    It's a shame. I've thought for a long time now that Ron is the best host in hockey. I hope they can sort this out because HNIC just won't be the same without him... nor will Grapes, as Bdoug said.

    Although I don't think he's as good, Scott Russell, should he get the lead job, is a pretty good replacement. Scott Oake is a bit too serious for the lead role.
