this guy is setting records as we speak on espn. 4 tds and 300+ yards just into the 3rd.

He is looking awesome. 7 drives, 6 TD's and a missed FG. 15 straight completions, deadly accurate. I wonder what Donahoe is thinking?!
The only thing that scares me is he looks frail. But I'm sure Rusty Jones could get him going...
5 tds now for rivers..
and frail? no way.. he is no ken dorsey.
he is 30 for 35.. 385 yards, and 5 tds.

Watched 'em in his 1st game this season against OSU. Very impressive - game went into 3hree of those goofy NCAA overtime periods.
Fiat justitia ruat caelum. Noli timere. Laus Deo.
I hope he doesn't play himself into the first round!
finished with a bowl record 484 yards passing..
37 of 45, with 5 tds and no TOs.. not too shabby.
Philip Rivers as a GAMER!!!!!!
I want to take another look at Matt Schaub, the UVA QB, before annointing Rivers, although Rivers sure looks good. Watch Schaub on ESPN 2 on 12/27 at 11:00 AM. Schaub is a great pro prospect, IMO.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?
He has an awkward delivery but I wouldn't mind grabbing him at all. Where is he slated to be taken??
I have seen him as high as 5th overall, behind Manning, Roethlisberger, Losman and Rivers. I guess that might put him in the 2nd or 3rd round.
I would like him in the 3rd!
If he's there in the 2nd, we should take him. Our primary needs as far as the OL are concerned are at guard and center. One, I think, we can take care of in free agency while the other can be addressed in the 3rd if necessary. We don't need to overpay for a guard in the first or second, which allows those picks to help us in other ways (like Rivers, if he's there).
Keep in mind that he did this against Kansas. I don't think Kansas has been to a bowl game since the 1950's. Also, they have one of the worst defenses in college football. I trust what the scouts think. I want big Ben R.
he put up great numbers against alot of people besides kansas... and he did it for 4 years.. he holds ever record for a qb at ncst. ever.Originally posted by Drewpac

You want Big Ben? Keep wanting. I really don't think he'll be available to us with a mid round pick.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Philip Rivers is a GAMER!!!!
This kid just knows how to play football. I've watched him develop over the past 4 years and he has performed consistantly under 4 different OCs.
Did I mention, Philip Rivers is a GAMER!!!!
Yeah, but what do you think of Phillip Rivers? Is he a gamer or what?Originally posted by NC-BILLS44
