Not if you tweak it. I've never played ESPN NHL Hockey. Is that better than EA Sports NHL2004?

the gameplay has a huge difference between ESPN and an EA SPORTS GAME...... ESPN HOCKEY HAS BETTER GAME PLAY BETTER ANNOUNCERS (ACUTALLY REALISTIC) espn hockey is a better game than hitz or any other crap that is out in the store

ESPN Hockey is the best hockey game out there this year, and has been for the past 3-4 years (It was the NHL2K series before)----for sim purists. I happen to be one of them who wants as realistic a game as possible. However, for someone who just wants an arcadish hockey game once in awhile, Hitz is great. 3 of my buddies and I would play some multiplayer Hitz 2003 on the Xbox every so often for the fun of it.

I know. That's what I said in my statement above! I've been playing the NHL2K series since its first installment on Dreamcast, and it has been better than the EA franchise's games since. I used to love the EA NHL games (Pre 2000), but they've become complacent.

the best EA Sports game in my opinion is NHL 93 AND 94

NHL Rivals 2004 has good game play and i dont think its that bad of a game
