    Question about Winfield's Deaprture??

Just surfing finheaven and they just found out they are losing Tod Wade. There was talk that they will recieve a compensatorty pick next year. Something the league decides, will this be the case with AW. Will we recieve a pick next year as well?

Only if the league determines that we did not sign someone of equal or greater value to Winfield.

Same thing goes for the Dolphins. If they sign someone of equal or greater value to Wade they will not get a compensatory pick.

I thought that was only if they are Restricted FA. Wade is I believe and Winfield is UFA.

If a team signs a RFA then it is essentially a trade with the other team for that teams draft picks. The team that signs a player has to give the determined draft picks to the other team.

If a team loses a UFA and the league determines that the team did not get anyone to replace him that can be awarded compensatory picks as high as a 3rd rounder.
