Vikings agree to terms with WR Robinson
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) The Minnesota Vikings agreed to terms Monday on a contract with free-agent wide receiver Marcus Robinson, whose career experienced a brief renaissance in Baltimore.
Robinson visited Vikings headquarters on Saturday, but he left without a deal. Monday's agreement, however, gave Minnesota a potential complement to Randy Moss that the team has been searching for since Cris Carter's retirement after the 2001 season.
Robinson, drafted by Chicago in the fourth round out of South Carolina in 1997, caught 84 passes for 1,400 yards and nine touchdowns for the Bears in 1999. His production declined after that, mostly due to injuries.
