Of the 6 Canadian hockey teams, they are a combined 2-9 at home to start the season.
I saw one of the victories, a goal by Ottawa with under 5 min left to beat Phoenix

Huh?
who cares. 5-2 Canada in the olympics!
How does that work anyways? I'd rather sign a 500K deal in US than Canada....which money system do they use?

All the good players play for teams that pay in U.S Dollars
Oh ya, and don't forget, 5 of the 6 teams made the playoffs last season, so hehe
At this rate, it looks like 1 of 6 will make it this year!
It's too early to tell......and don't forget, one of those losses was the 6-1 beating the Habs took at the hands of our very own Sabres.

Question: With the exception of Kent "Everybody's talkin' at me" Nilsson, what do all these players have in common?
Answer: They're all Canadian. Ohhhh!
Tell me your "college boys" of '80 would have beat a TRUE Canadian team. Never. The fact is, back then there were only two hockey superpowers, Canada and Russia, and only 8 years before that, guys like Esposito, Orr, Mahovolich, Cournoyer, Henderson, etc., etc., etc, just got through establishing Canada's hockey dominance by whoopin' the Commies in the Summit Series.
Applesozer:Oranges
I rest my case.
P.S., and that list doesn't even include the other guys on those teams that were dominant in other ways, like defensively, or the number two scorers, like Mike Bossy.
The college boys would have whipped their asses. They beat the professionals from Russia who were waaaay better than Team Canada.
How many went on to have great NHL careers? None. A few had mediocre careers, like Mike Ramsey and Mark Johnson. The beloved US captain, Eruzione, never even played a single GAME in the NHL. In fact, he never played even a semi-pro game after 1980. And that miracle goaltender, Jim Craig, a whopping 27 NHL game career. Whoa!Originally posted by Earthquake Enyart

Admit it, Mr. Earthquake man, you LOVE team Canada!
Virtually the same Russian team whipped Canada's ass 8-1 in the 1981 Canada Cup. Our boys played like a team, not like a bunch of prima donnas.
And Canada also beat the USA 8-3 in the round robin & 4-1 in the semis of that same tournament in 1981.
What's your point?
What about the Summit Series? What about '76? What about '84? What about '87? What about '91? I'll gve ya '96, but I'm talking the olympics.
Who's your momma? Huh, pal? Who owns Earthquake? Jill owns Earthquake!!!!
96 was sweet.
You don't own squat.
canada own the gold medal baby, they got rings yestertday. 5-2. Canada.
