Watson did play much better. Must have been a "good game."
I agree w/ EE. No need to get carried away. The Lions were not even that good a team. They have a nominal Running Back and three WRs that are good, none of whom are great, and a rookie QB.
Yet, we couldn't manage one single sack, forced fumble, or INT. Other than the H-M one that Watson had. But that one doesn't count for obvious reasons.
I didn't see much that impressed me. It was the Lions! A terrible team! If we play like that each week, then we're gonna get killed vs. teams that have an offense. Ie., N.E., K.C., G.B., S.D., and maybe even Cincy too if we're not careful.
We should have blown Detroit out and we barely won the game. We're 5-3 w/ 4 of our 5 wins over teams that are all 2-5 who collectively have one marquee WR and one marquee RB w/ no marquee QBs and two rookie QBs.
This D isn't good. Our punting is good. Drew is good. That's about it. Gilbride simply doesn't know how to use a Running Back. Poor Henry. He played a good first half but Gilbride still didn't use him. He got about 1.5 carries per drive. That's sad.
If Gilbride doesn't wake up, we're in for a shocker on Sunday!
The Miami game was apparenty a fluke that we won only because of Lucas' 6 unforced errors/TOs.
We simply cannot keep passing each game and expect to win games v. teams like N.E., G.B., S.D., K.C. Even the Jets and Miami on the second go round may be tough too. We're 5-3 playing like a 2-6 team. Sure, we have the record, but we're not a good team.
Close wins, almost losses, against teams like Houston, Detroit, Minnesota, and Chicago simply are not good enough to demonstrate that we're 5-3 by virtue of anything other than an easy schedule such as Chicago had last year. They at least went 13-3 w/ theirs.Replace Donahoe with Modrak and fire the entire coaching staff!
Then let's go to Disneyworld!
GO BILLS!!!
