    'Liza and David' party at VH1

    LOS ANGELES (The Hollywood Reporter) --- Liza Minnelli and new husband David Gest are going to throw 10 dinner parties in their Manhattan penthouse, invite their famous friends, and let VH1 document it.

    "Liza and David," which will premiere in October, marks VH1's first reality series, one the net hopes will garner as much buzz as MTV's "The Osbournes."

    "We love 'The Osbournes,' " Gest said during a news conference Thursday at the House of Blues in West Hollywood. "But this is totally different."

    Liza said there will be no cameras in her bathroom or bedroom.

    Gest describes "Liza and David" as a documented jam session that will be "kind of like our wedding." Given that 58 top acts performed during the couple's highly publicized gala nuptials in March, "Liza and David" promises to be a convergence of random stars from the past and present.

    I don't know why anyone is interested in the Osbournes or in anyone in Big Brother. Are all the viewers own lives so boring that they are impelled to live vicariously through all of these people?

    I just never understood the infatuation w/ those shows.
