I just took my son to our first game this season, and I must say for a bunch of Professionals, they sure don't play the game like they should.
Being a Zamboni operator at one of the bigger arenas in the city, I see kids at the Junior and Midget AAA level putting more effort on the ice in one period, than these over paid morons do in a whole game.
I will never go to another Oilers game this season, when I can see very exciting hockey at my arena.
When I die, please don't let my wife sell my camera equipment for what I told her I paid for it.
I have a feeling I know which direction this thread is going to take.

Duff, it was an okay game. They were very sluggish in the first period, and had a slow start to the second.
They seem to like starting off slow, and can only play hard, when down by a couple of goals.
It was nice to get a point from Dallas, but we held them to 4 or 5 shots in the first, then we only had a few in the second.

Nice Fantasy Implications for me... but I hear ya.
I've always liked the Oilers, since over the past 7-8 years the Oilers and the Sabres seem to Mirror each other. Both are small market teams that have stretched a buck as far as they can.
Now, both struggle.
One thing that surprised me about the Oilers, is that they are one of the most profitable teams in the league, in regards to season ticket base (16000+), concessions and corporate sponsorship, but they still lost money last season.
How can they be the most profitable and lose money?
That is what I heard on the radio. Perhaps they meant to say they earned more money than any other team in the league, but still operated at a loss. Dunno, it must be Canadian economics.
