IMO, if I were getting paid to play a sport, and were defending my champion and trying to prove to my employer that they made a good signing in me, i think i just might come into camp in shape.

Yup...same thing this year.
Also, last year the Pats signed Joe Panos (G) for depth and a few days into camp he retired.
This year:
Signed Rish Tylski (G) and a few days into camp, guess what?.....retired....
