The Erie Assassins were just ecstatic to see that 2 players they really like are still available here. They traded up to get in a position to draft either one of them, so now they have to choose.

This is a tough choice to make. Had Mark Clayton not been picked by the Spartans, he would've been first. The next 2 players on our board were tied for 2nd on our board. We decided to take the next player because he fits our defensive scheme to a T: he's very aggressive, a sound tackler, and can intimidate players who try to take him on. He's also just scratching the surface of his abilities and should only get better w/ time. We are absolutely thrilled that he lasted until our 19th pick and will waste no more time in making him a member of the Assassins, so...

The Wookiees clearly have some holes to fill but the GM took over the team knowing it would not happen overnight. So, we move to the defensive side of the ball and will take a youngster who is solid in all aspects of his game.
