Defensive end to leave college early for the NFL

Pro scouts project Louisville defensive end Dewayne White as a second-round draft choice and that made him decide Friday to skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft.

"That was the final piece of the puzzle that I needed to make my decision," White said. "Once they told me that, I put the puzzle together and decided to go ahead and leave."

DeWayne White, Louisville(DT): Not a shocker here at all, 310 pound DT's who can rush the passer are golden in April.

If he's on the board when the Bills pick, TD would be dancing in the halls. Might go to the Pats in the 1st Rd.

White Leaves Early for NFL Draft

Cards' all-time sack leader to skip senior season

    Jan. 3, 2003

University of Louisville defensive end Dewayne White has announced that he will forego his final season of eligibility and enter the upcoming NFL Draft. White, the 2001 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year, announced his decision to skip his senior campaign at U of L in a press conference Friday afternoon at Cardinal Arena.

A two-time first team All-Conference USA selection, White enters the upcoming draft after helping the Cards post a 27-11 record and snare back-to-back C-USA titles during his three-year Cardinal career.
