Florida QB Grossman Decides to Enter NFL

Rex Grossman decided to leave Florida for the NFL on Saturday, a year to the day his old coach, Steve Spurrier, made the same move.

The junior quarterback's departure didn't come as quite as big a shock as Spurrier's. But after mulling it over for weeks, Grossman realized that going pro was his best option.

    From NFL Draft Blitz-

    Rex Grossman/QB/Florida \\
    By: D.J. Boyer

    12/14/02

    Assessment:

Rex Grossman came very close to leaving school at the end of last season after Steve Spurrier took his coaching ability to the NFL to head the Washington Redskins. Grossman struggled most of his junior season and now it looks like he will leave a year early for the NFL. In a year with so many good quarterbacks available I think Grossman should wait another year until he makes the jump. Grossman struggled without Spurrier and showed poor judgment on a number of occasions throughout the season. Grossman has only average arm strength and his velocity isn’t his strong suit either. Grossman gets a lot of air under most of his balls and they have a tendency to sail on his receivers. What Grossman does have is an accurate arm that can work in the right NFL system, one where timing is the most essential component.

OVERRATED!!!!!!!!! Only about 6-1, 220, not a big gun, has good accuracy, and IMO was made into a better QB by the Florida system.

I see Spurrier taking him in the 3rd. Naming him immediate starter and overpaying him.
    COMING SOON...

Spurrier won't wait until the third. He is taking Grossman in the first and will trade Ramsey.

Grossman will be a first rounder. Packers will take him with their first pick if he is still there. Check this link........they are looking for Farves eventual replacement

If that's true and the Pack plan on taking him in the 1st Round, then they are reaching big-time. I wouldn't touch him till at best, the 3rd Round.

Grossman will not fall out of the first two rounds. He will probably get drafted from late first to early second round.
It's nice to have a real quarterback again.
