That pass on 3rd and 2 that Reed dropped, the Knute Rockne halfback option play, the fourth down call..... these were the big sins, there were plenty more. At least they made decent use of Willis and took a few shots down the field, but still not good enough.
Second, we're 3-5 overall, 2-2 in the AFC and 2-1 in the AFCE. It's conceivable that we could win out and still miss the playoffs. PUT LOSMAN IN. Nothing against Holcomb- he's been consistent, and despite his problems has been an improvement over Losman and Bledsoe. But this season is shot- let Losman play because he won't have the pressure of costing us a playoff chance. In addition, we have a bye so he has two weeks to practice with the first team and get back into it.
Third, NE will win this division. Despite some uncharacteristic mistakes, they found a way to win in the end, and that's what separates the good (NE) from the mediocre (Buffalo).
