Question: What does Posey actual bring to the defense?

This guy does nothing...I mean, he never makes a play. He never is in on tackles, so why is he still playing? At this point, put in a younger guy and let him learn because taking Posey out of the lineup is not a big loss. Can anybody tell me why this loser is still on the field?

I've been trying to figure this out myself. He had one good game this year, and even then he ran out of gas on a sure TD.

Maybe once a game, he'll get a big hit after a 6 yard run.

He doesn't blitz a lot from his position in Gray's scheme, so the sacks and forced fumbles won't be there. But some deflected passes, INT's, tackles for losses, etc would be nice. The guy just takes up space.

I'd like to see us go back to a 3-4...maybe he'd be productive again

He gave the TE a free release because he bit on the fake reverse on the Panthers TD. That had nothing to do with what scheme we play. We had a good rush on that play. If he had just slowed the TE down a little the rush would have gotten to the QB. Posey plain sucks. Time to move on.

I've been saying all along that posey has not done anything for us. He needs to be replaced.

Wonder if Posey could play on the O-line, because no one else seems to know how to get in front of the guy trying to kill your QB and RB.

He has pretty average numbers for a LOLB. He's not great and he's a bit slow, but he's just as much a part of those 2nd ranked defenses as anyone else. He's simply aging like the rest of this defense. He doesn't suck, however.

We need a youth transfusion at linebacker and safety and some better sideline-to-sideline speed.

Yes, maybe he would. But I think that move could limit the productivity of Takeo Spikes. Wouldn't he have less room to move around?

Actually, I dont really know how it would impact Spikes. I dont think he's ever played in a 3-4 before.

If we do go to the 34 defense, I would favor putting in Coy Wire at one of the LB positions. Let him be a constant threat in making tackles.

I just kind of made this up, but do you think that London Fletcher could play Strong Safety? That would mean Fletcher/Baker at Safety, and Crowell/Spikes/Wire/Posey at LB.

Haha I'm so numb with today's loss I dont really care what we try. I just want to see what type of talent we have for next year.

Sam Cowart had more production in a 3-4 than he did in a 4-3
