2001 Season Stats: 10 games, 57 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, 4 passes broken up, 1 fumble recovery, 5 forced fumbles
Positives: Explosive player with great natural ability for a man of his size. Is strong, can run and can jump through the roof. Is an impact player who can get up the field and get after the passer.
Negatives: Is an outside linebacker/defensive end tweener. Lacks size and may have to make the transition to linebacker when in the NFL.
Overall analysis: Over the course of the last two college seasons very few players have played as well as Peek. Peek enjoyed a great sophomore season, and was even better as a junior in 2001. A defensive end in college, Peek shows tremendous ability at rushing the passer and getting into the opponent’s backfield. Peek is a top athlete who can beat the opposition with power or speed. Peek is also an excellent jumper, and does a great job of getting in the throwing lanes and knocking down passes when he is unable to get to the quarterback. But his size is an issue, and it’s pretty likely that Peek will have to make the transition to a linebacker position or be a situational pass-rusher once he reaches the NFL. But make no mistake about it; Peek does have enough ability to someday be a quality NFL linebacker. It’s very likely that, come draft day, teams that use a 3-4 defense will be especially interested in Peek. Currently, Peek is grading out in the late day one or very early day two area.

Positives: Has good quickness and is very good at getting up the field. Has a non-stop motor and will give one hundred percent on every play. Has been a great player in a very tough conference.
Negatives: Lacks natural size and strength. Doesn’t have the tools to constantly take on double teams.
Overall analysis: After seeing considerable playing time in his true freshman season, Johnson stepped into the starting lineup as a sophomore and stayed there ever since. Simply put, Johnson is one of those players whose physical package indicates that he is, at best, a later round pick. However, whenever Johnson steps on the football field he plays like a first rounder. Johnson’s lack of size and strength is more than made up with his tenacity and all-out hustle. But when it comes to the NFL, he has limitations that may prevent him from fitting into certain defenses. Johnson would not be an ideal fit for a team plays a two-gap defense where the linemen have to stand up at the line. However, a one-gap defense that allows defensive lineman to concentrate and fill one gap fits Johnson perfectly. But the bottom line is that Johnson can get it done on the football field, as evidenced by his performance during his career at Alabama. Currently Johnson carries a solid second round grade, and is a player that looks to have a good chance of being a solid NFL performer.

I'm not sold on this guy's draft- He has the fewest defenders by far of any mock going in rd #1- 16 players (defense is much deeper than offense in this draft- ansd a much bigger need in the NFL) Including 3 first round TE selections....huh?????
On his MSNBC draft he has Charlie Rogers dropping to #9, Soph. injury prone WR Kelley Washington going 10thNew England going for a WR(Rashaun Woods -OKlahoma) and RB (Ontero Smith- Oregon) with their 2 1st rounders, but on his web page he has New England drafting for Defense (which is their glaring need) with those picks. My guess is he pulls these out of his rear...but then, don't we all?

2001 Season Stats: 11 games, 36 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, 4 passes broken up, 1 fumble recovery
Positives: Possesses above average speed and quickness for an interior defensive lineman. Is an experienced and durable player that gives top effort. Is an improving player coming off of a great senior season.
Negatives: Lacks great bulk and strength. Needs to be more consistent in keeping his pad level down. Is somewhat of a defensive end/defensive tackle tweener.
Overall analysis: After redshirting in 1998, Williams went on to be a four-year starter at Oklahoma State. Williams showed signs of being a quality player as a junior, but really took his game to the next level as a senior. Over his college career Williams has seen extensive action as both a defensive tackle and a defensive end. Williams is a classic tweener.
As a pro defensive end he has great size but doesn’t have great athletic ability. But as a pro defensive tackle he has very good athletic ability but lacks size and bulk. However, there are some other strong positives for Williams. He is a player that is a hard worker and will give a top effort. He is a very experienced player having been a four-year starter in a major college conference. He is also very durable and has not missed much playing time because of injury.
In summary, Williams might play end in one scheme or tackle in a different scheme, but given his package of intangibles it’s likely that Williams will become a quality NFL player. Currently Williams carries a late day one/early day two grade.
NFL Draft Blitz
Kevin Williams' bowl appearances have in my opinion guaranteed him a first round selection. I'd be thrilled if he dropped, but it's not going to happen. I think Jarret Johnson and Garay would be reaches for the Bills in mid round two. I realize Garay probably has first round talent, but his injuries are such a red flag that I think most teams wouldn't even consider drafting him on day one if at all. I like Peek's athleticism. Whether or not the Bills feel he can make the position switch in time to help the Bills this year is a question only they can answer. There are a couple other DE/OLB tweeners the Bills might pick up later in Shurron Pierson and Bryant McNeal.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

With all the DT/DE we hope to fall gone, will have wait later rounds, so we switch gears to our second need: LB. Terry Pierce is a physical specimen with good speed, lot of potential, and bring a mean streak on the field. Best of all, he hits like a mack truck!

A strong run-stuffing interior DT who is tough to root off the line of scrimmage and does a good job of keeping his pads down. He should fit in nicely with Pat Williams! He will have to work on his pass rushing skills.

Lance A very active player on the field with great speed and tackling abilities, also has instincts in reacting to developing plays. As an all-around athlete, he has shown good coverage drop and one on one skills.

Quite possibly will lose Peerless Price to free agency - so they need to reload. Although Josh Reed is a very capable #2 wide receiver behind Eric Moulds - they need some depth at the wide receiver position as Charles Johnson and Andre Rone are not exactly guys to hang you hat on as the third and fourth receivers. Vance is a solid wideout with good hands who could easily excel playing the slot position.
