KAPOLEI, Hawaii (Feb. 1, 2003) -- As Drew Bledsoe strode barefoot around the crystal-clear, circular pool at the swank J.W. Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa, he decided it was time to finally pull off his T-shirt in public.
"Got to show off this tan," Bledsoe said with a smile, knowing full well that he was about to reveal even more milky flesh that clearly had had minimal exposure to the sun.
In a baseball cap, dark sunglasses, and bathing suit, the Buffalo Bills' 6-foot-5 quarterback looked like a man enjoying a well-earned vacation. He was on his way to join his wife, Maura, and their three young sons at their poolside lounge chairs. Soon thereafter, Bledsoe would be in the water, slowly wading back and forth with one of his boys.
Life doesn't get a whole lot better, even for a multimillionaire professional athlete.
