    BillsZone Mock Draft

Welcome to the 2003 Billszone mock draft!

Each team will be assigned a specific time to draft- that way you can choose a team around your posting schedule. (so don't sign up for a team if you arent available at that time)

The Draft will run 1 round each day, with each team getting half an hour to pick. Arrangements can be made with our moderators to submit your pick if you aren't sure you can make the time posted.

If someone no shows, when their time slot is up the moderator in charge of the draft will use a composit of internet mock drafts and teem needs to make the choice for you.

All trades must be approved by a moderator.

Also, if you want to make it a 3 round mock instead of a 2 round mock- post your preference with your pick. I will post the draft order for the 3rd round if the majority want to go the extra day!

Please keep this thread clear - for picks and moderators of the draft only. A second "Mock the Mock draft" thread will be set up to handle hecklers, trade talk, ect....

BledsoetoReedfor6 is not on the boards and his time has expired.

The Mock drafts are pretty much in consensus. They all for the most part have Arizona selecting Terrance Newman or Suggs, and have Dallas taking Newman or Suggs as well. Since Suggs is gone, Newman it is!

Arizona Cardinals: Terrance Newman CB Kansas St. (49ers, Rams and Seahawks all have good passing games which means that if you are serious about contending in this division you better have good cover corners.)

With the 8th pick in the 2003 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select Andre Johnson, WR, Miami

The Jaguars wanted Terrell Suggs since there is so much depth at WR, but he didn't last to our #8 pick. We need picks so we wern't interested in trading up to get him. If Andre wouldn't have been available at #8 we would've entertained trade offers for the pick and select Haynes or McDougal later on in the 1st round.

We are very happy to have Andre on our side. We needed another threat to take heat off of Jimmy Smith, and Andre is the only WR we would've considered taking in the 1st round to get the job done. We feel he will be a force on our team for years to come.

Expansionblues left me some picks because he was not going to make it at this time. Unfortunatly, the picks he left are all gone.

The Mock Drafts identify OT & DT as the two glaring spots, though Houston also needs offensive weapons to compliment Carr.

One site AOK Draft pulled the same draft day trade with Caroina for the #3 and Leftwich.

So, I'll go with who they picked in this spot.

Houston Texans (from Carolina): Jordan Gross, OT, Utah

    12. St. Louis Rams select-OT Kwame Harris- Stanford

Offensive line was a sieve most of last year and could lose depth via free agency. Harris would provide a bookend on the right side with Orlando Pace, almost a lock to return at left offensive tackle. Playmaking linebacker is also a consideration because Jamie Duncan and Robert Thomas were disappointing in trying to fill London Fletcher's void.
    BFZ Resident Psychologist

Too many people worry about what other people think of them.

They wouldn't worry about it too much, if they realized how little, others actually think about them.

    DE Michael Haynes, Penn State

A speed rusher is a definite interest in DC, and Haynes fits the bill. Quarterback could be another possibility with his boy Grossman. WR too.

With the 14th pick acquired from New England previously acquired from Buffalo, the Oakland Raiders select:

    DT Kevin Williams, Oklahoma St.

The salary cap purges resulted in the loss of DL Sam Adams, Regan Upshaw, and Trace Armstrong. Raiders needs the versatile Kevin Williams to bulk up the DL

Winfield 26 Is a No show.

On all the mock drafts, with the exception of the top 2-3 picks, it is rare to see everyone have a consensus on a playerdrafted in the mid- later part of the round. Not here. 2/3rds of the mocks out there seem to have the same need filled for the KC Cheifs.

Chiefs select Andre Wolfolk- CB/ Oklahoma

The Saints need help all over on defense. Their offense was one of the highest scoring in the league- yet they collapsed after a tremendous start due to the inability to stop anyone.
