The prices of the draft picks there isn't any of them worth keeping after this year unless you're lucky enough to find a 6 rated guy in the very late rounds for a couple million that could help you out and maybe improve. Most likely by that time they will be gone though and the only thing left will be 5 or lower rated players.

You have to draft good and build your team around the draft. Pick up good players for cheap that will be with you for a long time. With the extra money left then you can go out and get a couple FA's to improve a certain area for 1 season. The only guys who will be cheap and valuable enough to keep around for one year will be draft picks.
Most of us only need to fill a couple spots and are satisfied with what we got. Besides, what made you an expert on this league? Didn't you just join this within the last few weeks???

I think the Nature Boy, Ric Flair, said it best: to be the man, you've gotta beat the man.

I just hope to break even this year. I think I have a good enough team to win 8 games this year. Only time will tell.

Good pick with Locklear...He was my target in the next round. He is a very solid young starter for a good running team. he will make you happy for awhile.

That's only common sense that you need to build the foundation of your team around good cheap young talent. The FA's cost too much. You could never do it. They are just hired help till you find somebody cheaper.

I never said I was an expert. Sorry I took your starting QB. You shouldn't have left him out there.

That's what the FA draft is about: making moves to help your team.

Re: 2006 FA Draft Peanut Gallery

I am sure I am doing wonders for my team being on vacation for 11 days. Oh well while you guys are sweating out your picks Ive been sweating out by the pool.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
    It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

i wasn't sweating.... i had a plan to not overpay for average players that are 1 year stopgaps and go for younger talent.
