    Experience loses value in playoffs

As the playoffs near the midway point, there is the distinct possibility the goaltenders on the four teams involved in the conference finals will have a total of zero games in NHL post-season play before this season.

In the Eastern Conference, we're assured of at least one rookie goaltender in the final, with Buffalo's Ryan Miller holding a 3-1 edge over Ottawa's Ray Emery going into Game 5 tonight in Ottawa. And Carolina rookie Cam Ward can put the broom to the New Jersey Devils this afternoon.

Ya gotta start getting experience sometime in your career! There once was a time when Patrick Roy had no playoff experience as well. You're right coaching and teamwork can overcome inexperience!
