All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

jatmthejatm, so with the ROR injury, what should we expect from our prospects. aside from eichel and reinhart. are there other guys at the bailey level? and what are our expectations? I haven't heard much
Well, they called up bailey and Cal oreilly. Right now, the Amerks are pretty thin, most of the prospects have graduated to the NHL or been moved. So in that respect, outside bailey, who is already here, there isn't much. Carrier has been improving dramatically and Baptiste is still learning the game too
it feels like we went through the prospect pool fast. agreed we have high risk high reward prospects. but we do need to get a legit second line and a real deal set of grinders and pounders that don't have to score so much as be defensively effective.

We did. Sabres drafted high often and somewhat rushed prospects. And lots of trades.
And some guys just didn't work out. Armia was FANTASTIC his sophomore season with the merks. But right when he was traded, he fell off the face of the earth.
Grigo is growing with the aves. I like the kid and glad to see him growing. Compher is really having a season for michigan.
Also, Fasching should be signed once the gophers season is over
He had 2!! Put him up to 4 lol. He has been playing pretty well in the 3rd line grinder roll with Lowry. Don't think he will light the lamp with regularity at this level but he can still contribute physically.

His development seemed to really trail off once he was moved. But I'm glad to see him contribute

The moose have really been struggling this year so it isn't just him. With all the midgets we seem to be acquiring, having a guy with size is most welcome. Specially in our division.
Doesn't seem to understand the flow of the game or how to utilize his teammates... his elite skills are what has allowed him to create space and opportunity on the ice throughout his life.
his skills are still going to allow him to create offensive opportunity and production, but I'm not sold on his gameplay IQ.
one looks like he's got some pretty good skills but skates and plays the game weird.
Eichel is 19. He's shouldering a lot right now especially with ROR out. Opponents are pitting their best checkers against him and the checking talent in the NHL is way better than anything he faced at BU. There is no one on the team to take the heat off him in that respect. Of course, he's going to have to learn to deal with that.
Comparing any rookie from the past decade to McDavid is a bit unfair. A generational talent as you say. And throw your best checkers against him every game and the Oilers will burn you with Nugent-Hopkins and Draisaitl.
Eichel has a lot to learn, but he'll come around. I recall another certain 2nd overall pick that was a clear disappointment his rookie year. The Sabres thought they made the right decision not taking him first overall. That judgment proved premature.
mcdavid is 100% ready now and showed it. his OT goal was a joke. Lehner should have stopped it.
Eichel is growing into his role. he didn't play a long EHL season. he played truncated college hockey. everyone knew this is the difference between the two players.
the sabres also have zero talent due to injury and roster make up. Larson, foligno, moulson, gionta simply don't score. and they are essentially the second line. so now someone like coastal wants a 19Yr old to magically do it on his own? Edmonton actually has talent in Hall and yakupov. they had stretches of pure domination in our end and it had nothing to do with eichel. It definitely would have been more fun if eichel could have scored right before the mcdavid OT goal, but it didn't work out that way.
