    Offensive Game Plan Unacceptable

I am sure you've all been through this but losing in this fashion needs more analysis.

Putting aside Taylor's obvious struggles it's clear the root cause of our inept offensive performance was the coaching.

First of all, we once again avoided Sammy Watkins early and often. That is the first sign that we have no clue what we're doing.

Does Pittsburgh do that with Antonio Brown, no, and the list goes on.

Second, where are the most basic NFL pass plays?

Really, no slants? Sammy is almost uncoverable on slants and Woods is pretty sharp as well. Hit a couple of those and the LBs will backup a bit off the LoS.

No quick hitters? And if they're playing some kind of zone to account for TT running how do we not involve Clay in the soft areas?

The lack of the most basic routes and concepts in this offense is just stupid. Enough shotgun read option fake nonsense on EVERY play.

Roman better have a real NFL game plan for the Jets.

I think we should not put aside Tyrod's obvious struggles, mostly because that's why we lost the game.

Back when Greg Roman was the offensive coordinator for the 49ers, Colin Kaepernick was widely considered a franchise QB. However, he took a lot of heat from 49er fans for omitting a number of basic pass plays from his offense. "Kaepernick is very good," the thinking went, "but he'd be even better if he had a real offensive coordinator who introduced a complete package. Not just the partial package we're seeing from Roman."

Kaepernick's career began its decline under Roman's rule. There is a limit to how long an offensive coordinator can hide his QB's weaknesses. But the real exposure came when Roman was replaced. The new offensive coordinator asked Kaepernick to make the throws that Roman hadn't asked him to make. At which point, it became glaringly, painfully obvious that Kaepernick wasn't able to make those throws. Today Kaepernick is a third string QB, most noted for the national anthem controversy.

All of this is worth bearing in mind when discussing how "stupid" Roman supposedly is for omitting basic throws from his Tyrod Taylor offense.

Slants? Really? Okay run slants but Tyrod isn't throwing to a slant more than 10 yards down field. The slant route enters his "no throw" zone.

The Ravens gameplan was to make Tyrod play quarterback. That's about all I need to know.

they had a good second half drive going and then reggie bush ran backwards like a rookie. that killed the drive and they lost their momentum. if they score the TD there, they can build. instead, they fell apart and put TT in a situation to play catch up, something he hasn't pulled off yet in a short career in buffalo. Even EJ had a come from behind victory in his first season.

Tyrod missed wide open WRs when he had plenty of time to throw.

              End of discussion.

Jets game is a must win because a loss is a strong sign the team starts 0-4.
