    Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread

Goaltending has been far better the last 2 weeks. Now Cromrie is skating and working himself back into playing shape. Does he go for a rehab assignment to Rochester to give things time ? Do they send UPL back down ? Anderson playing well in his spot starts. Cannot carry 3 Goalies with all our other injuries. Decisions for the GM.

Still have 3 of our top 6 D-Men hurt. Depth has held the fort.

Sabres still have to work on closing out games. They are still very bad in the 3rd period.

Outshot an incredible 23-5 in the 3rd last night. Same thing happened in Colorado. All the play is in their own end. Ouch.

The SOG numbers were incredibly bad especially in the 3rd.

I think UPL goes back down. If he continues to play like he did last night before they have to make a decision it will be a hard call though.

Tage is a beast. He has one of the best snapshots ive ever seen. Power and accuracy. Second in goals and had about 5 goals hit the post this year. Its insane. Hes the sabres josh allen

I just started watching again, havent watched much since the slug because tbh, it's extremely hard to watch hockey when your team sucks. But its so much fun to watch this team and now seeing them learning how to win

Considering that it was a 10pm start, you'd be forgiven.

BTW, Buffalo is now 4th in the division(they're ahead of Florida; even though the Sabres & Panthers have 34 points each, Buffalo gets 4th due to them having 2 fewer OT/SO losses)and 18th overall in the league(ahead of Florida(again)and Calgary(Buffalo has 4 less OT/SO losses).
John Hemingway(facing certain death): I want to see Buffalo win the Super Bowl.
David Coltrane(threatening John): Nobody's going to live that long, pal.

4-0 on a West Coast road trip- can't complain about that. I finally watched the highlights from Monday. UPL did make some great saves. Still, I don't trust him long term.

Tage is a legit superstar. When they gave him that contract, I thought it was a bit premature but now it seems like a bargain.

And it doesn't even kick in until NEXT season.

Dallas did much the same when it locked up Jason Robertson for 4 seasons(if I remember right)/$31 million. That move by the Stars looks smart as well.

Look. If two years ago, you had told me the sabres would have moved on from Eichel, but had a better player than him, who is younger, and has a better contract than him, I would have laughed in your face. If you told me that player was Tage Thompson, I would have burned your house down for being a hockey blasphemer.

That 8 game losing streak really seems killer now.

If we could have won even 2 or 3 of those games, we'd have a much better shot at sneaking into the playoffs.

I know it's a long shot, but this team is so young and there's so little playoff experience as a group. I'd love to see them get in just to get some experience, even if it means getting smoked in the first round.

Fridays game against the bolts to be postponed due to weather.

Gives them a chance to get the D healthy again

I was thinking the same thing, this break actually is like a bye for us now which is very much needed. Tuesday the 27th is our next game against Columbus, we need to thump their ass.

I saw a youtube video claiming they offered him to one of the top teams a couple years ago for a 5th rounder and were turned down. No idea if that's true but can you imagine if it is?

That's insane to me. I heard there was a third rounder in there too.

Anyways. It started to come after Ralph was fired. Tage started to produce, not at the clip Casey Mittlestadt did, but it came.

After what Mittlestadt did under granato after the firing, I thought it would be him who broke out
