They should take the highest-rated player at a position of need like MLB, WR (assuming they don't get Hopkins) or RT.

I think they need to coorelate this pick with a plan for later picks as there is no 1st round rated MLB, so if they make a pick here, they'd better be damned sure their MLB choice is there at her next pick, a late 2nd round. Hard to imagine that player would be there then. Would they trade back and take the MLB with that pick? There are some good players on YardRats list. Personally like the DT or the safety. But they have to guarantee they get their targeted MLB somehow. Would they reach for a player rated in the mid-2nd round at #27? The Bills of old have many such reaches that didn't work out so well.

I have Day 2, rounds 2 and 3, mocked out already also using the same draft, I'll post those later after this one gets some action.

Trade down, if offered. Need LB, S, OL. Turn 6 picks into 7-9 picks. Need a starting LB type right now.

Lots of holes again after this year, so development of youth in 2023 is equally important. Get them ready. Cap will be tight again in 2024.

I want a big, strong armed WR, assuming we don't pick one up in FA.

    Re: You be The Beane

I'm going Darnell Wright. Open competition at right tackle. If he isn't there, Mazi Smith. The Bills love their undersized DT's, so they'll probably take Clancy over Smith, but I get Oliver vibes from Clancy. Give me the big boy.

I'm taking Nolan Smith, Edge. I don't think there's much chance he makes it to 27, but if he's there that's an easy pick for me. I think he's going to be special.

Out of that list of players expected to be available, this is a no brainier.

    WR Zay Flowers.

He probably will not be there at #27. Another WR that probably won’t be there at #27 (but has been mocked to the Bills) Quentin Johnston would be an even better fit. If Johnston is there at #27, they should waste no time to get the pick in.

If neither Flowers or Johnston are there at #27, but Hyatt is...depending on how Beane suspects the board will fall...trade back a little bit, but not too much that you miss getting him.

LB is obviously a need, but not enough to have to reach.

WR is the greater need in any event.

I'd love a trade down in that situation.

    Schmitz

He's probably the closest player to a sure-thing on this list and he can play G or C.

If not, I take a shot with Campbell. He just always seems to rise to the occasion.

Please no reaching trade down as many times as possible.

2 or 3 might be enough.

We need to put rookies on the field from the jump if we can't we are ****ed anyway.

Pray we improved our scouting department.
