Clumpy's 2024 1st rd Mock Draft (plus Bills 7 rd)

I've wavered back and forth about the Bills this offseason. I originally believed weeks ago that the negativity surrounding both the PSL cost and Diggs trade would kinda of force a move up to get one of the elite WR's. I'm no longer thinking that and really think the Bills will stand pat at #28. My first round:

    1) Chicago (CAR) - QB Caleb Williams (USC)
    2) Washington - QB Jayden Daniels (LSU)
    3) New England - QB Drake Maye (North Carolina)
    4) Arizona - WR Marvin Harrison Jr. (Ohio St)
    5) LA Chargers - OT Joe Alt (Notre Dame)
    6) NY Giants - QB J.J. McCarthy (Michigan)
    7) Tennessee - WR Rome Odunze (Washington)
    8) Atlanta - DE Dallas Turner (Alabama)
    9) Chicago - OT J.C. Lathan (Alabama)
    10) NY Jets - TE Brock Bowers (Georgia)
    11) Minnesota - WR Malik Nabers (LSU)
    12) Denver - DB Cooper Dejean (Iowa)
    13) Pittsburgh (LV) - WR Brian Thomas Jr. (LSU) TRADE: Pittsburgh trades 1,20 and 2, 51 to Las Vegas 1, 13 and 5, 148
    14) New Orleans - CB Terrion Arnold (Alabama)
    15) Indianapolis - DE Jared Verse (Florida St.)
    16) Seattle - C Jackson Powers-Johnson (Oregon)
    17) Jacksonville - OT Olumuyiwa Fashanu (Penn St)
    18) Cincinnati - OT Taliese Fuaga (Oregon St)
    19) LA Rams - WR Xavier Worthy (Texas)
    20) Las Vegas (PITT) - QB Michael Penix Jr. (Washington)
    21) Miami - DE Laiatu Lata (UCLA)
    22) Phialdelphia - CB Quinyon Mitchell (Toledo)
    23) Minnesota (CLE) - QB Bo Nix (Oregon)
    24) Dallas - CB Kool-Aid McKinstry (Alabama)
    25) Green Bay - OT Tyler Guyton (Oklahoma)
    26) Tampa Bay - DE Chop Robinson (Penn St)
    27) Arizona (HOU) - CB T.J. Tampa (Iowa St
    28) Buffalo - DE Darius Robinson (Missouri)
    29) Detroit - CB Nate Wiggins (Clemson)
    30) Carolina (BAL) - WR Ladd McConkey (Georgia) TRADE: Carolina sends 2,33 and 3,101 to Baltimore for 1,30 and 7,228
    31) San Francisco - OL Graham Barton (Duke)
    32) Kansas City - WR Adonai Mitchell (Texas)

    Bills 7 round mock

1,28 - DE Darius Robinson (Missouri)
2,47 - WR Troy Franklin (Oregon)

    ** Bills send 2(60), 4(128), and 5th rd 2025 to NY Giants for 2(47)

    4,133 - C Charles Turner III (LSU)
    5,144 - S Evan Williams (Oregon)
5,160 - DE Myles Cole (Texas Tech)
5,163 - WR Ryan Flournoy (SE Missouri St)
6,200 - RB Dillon Johnson (Washington)
6,204 - CB Jarius Monroe (Tulane)

        Sorry…Doesn’t work for me.

The last thing we need is another friggin’ DE.

I am all for drafting a Center but WHO THE **** is Charles Turner?

        Barton is not available there?

Troy Franklin will NEVER be a true #1 NFL WR. He may become a really good #2 WR on a team that uses him properly but that is his ceiling.

Feels like you forced yourself into a little bit of a reach pick in the first after mocked Chop at 26.

Why, because you don’t know some of the name? Come on, like we really know anything about 99.9% of this these prospects! This draft fills most of the Bills positional needs! And yea we need to draft DE’s, Von is most likely gone after this year and what really has he done for the Bills except screw the cap? Tell me the Bills are set at DE and who is the next stand out on the roster right now?

If the board breaks the way it is, I think the Bills will go for DT Newton, who is consistently ranked top 2 DT prospects, many as the best IDL this year. Yes he might be viewed as a redundant 3 tech DT where Oliver is a starter, but the guy can rush the passer in the mold of Chris Jones who can lined at DE position to rush the passer as well.

Nah,it sucks because once again...its using the top draft choice on a not so fast pass rusher who will be no more than a part time player. A guy who brings an epenesa/Rousseau type skillset. At best, its Rousseau (which isn't bad). Or its Boogie Basham.

And in any event, its a part time player, as all of their DL are. You can't keep using your top draft picks on part time players.

Worse, it comes in a year in which the Bills traded away their top WR and have created a huge hole in the WR corps. And you passed over 2 of the more talented WR's (Mitchell and McConkey), in a talented WR class. OFC, what didn't go unnoticed was letting KC draft Mitchell, and letting Mahomes throw to him. And then had to trade up or an idk guy. I'lll love it if he works out, but have my doubts.

What Spiked is whining about was passing over Graham Barton, considered one of the best IOL in the draft. That could provide a plug and play guard to help alleviate the hole left by the release of Morse.

If we are going to go the non-WR route, yeah, I'd just as soon as take a Barton over a Darius Robinson.

I agree I don't see the need to make a big splash move up the board. In fact, I think that would make fans mad. I understood the Diggs trade. PSL are bs but that's the world we live in.

You put in some work brotha! Nice effort.

I gotta give you a C- though on the Bills draft.

Robinson is another “try hard” and a tweener. Haven’t we seen enough of those in Bills unis?

I doubt Johnny drops to 28 but this draft it could happen with the QB and WR rush sucking all the picks up.

If he’s there at 28 I would be very tempted…he is a potential game wrecker not just a try hard.
