BBD: WR Da'Rick Rogers Declares For 2013 NFL Draft

Well we can go ahead and put our first Junior into the 2013 NFL Draft as Tennessee Tech WR Da’Rick Rogers was officially announced today with the seniors on Senior Day and school confirmed Rogers was in fact leaving per Josh Ward.
Bills need a big WR and Rogers has all the potential in the world. Jumps up to our #1 WR rank immediately.

I can't see the Bills drafting a player with the off field issues that Rogers has. I think he'll go in the 1st, but I would not be surprised if he did not.

      Physically? Yes. Character wise? No.

Because of 2-3 failed tests? If that's the litmus test we're going to hold ourselves too then why are we even trying? These are 18-21 year old kids they make stupid decisions, if we aren't even going to allow ourselves to consider them for a 2nd shot then we are willing to basically tell half the talent out there thanks but not thanks.

Because of failed drug tests he's off the list? Kid is a legit #1 who will work the middle like Moulds used to. Big, fearless, physical, with great hands and legit 4.4 speed. Im sorry that standard is plain illogical.

Bills dont like character....they like quiet humble players.

I wouldn't automatically disqualify him for the off field issues, but I'd sure do my homework so I could be reasonably sure those issues are behind him. In any case, having another WR in the draft means someone else will drop. If Buffalo chooses to go that way, maybe they'll get a better WR in the second round than they would have gotten without Rogers being inthe draft.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

I'm sick of worrying about character issues, if it's just weed I don't care.

Look at Justin Houston. This franchise needs to take some risks, I'm not saying take him in the 1st, or top 10, but go after guys with a load of upside that haven't committed violent crimes. Pot isn't hurting anyone, to me that's not a character issue. A lot of these guys smoke, some more than others. Matter of getting caught.

I agree that guys like this are going to be given a shot in the NFL and probably should. But I don't agree that Chan and Buddy are the guys who would take that risk. I just don't see them doing it.
