    2022 Head Coach Hot Seats

I don't think I've ever seen anyone get fired this early in the season!

Assistant Coach Steve Wilks named interim head coach.

Rhule should return to the college ranks, where he succeeds. He'll sure get offers.

George Allen got fired after 2 preseason games in 1978 by the LA Rams.
John Rauch quit the Bills in July 1971, right around the time camp opened.

Those are the earliest coaching changes I remember.

I would add Frank Reich to the watch list.

Also, despite being in their first years, Hackett, Allen and McDaniel might be shown the door sooner rather than later considering all three teams are performing way below expectations.

I never saw the expectations that people had in NO, so I'd give Allen a pass. Some of the people who picked NO to be good were overlooking the mediocrity of their QBs. Drew Brees isn't there anymore.

Re: 2022 Head Coach Hot Seats

    Regarding Rhule and Brady :

“A week or two before the Panthers’ Week 14 bye week in 2021, Rhule told players he was headed out of town during the week off and encouraged them to get away, too. After a 23-point loss at Miami on Nov. 28 dropped the Panthers to 5-7, Rhule kept his travel plans, as did others in the organization. Meanwhile, offensive coordinator Joe Brady and quarterback coach Sean Ryan spent part of the bye week at the stadium watching tape and meeting with [Cam] Newton, who had re-signed three weeks earlier and was trying to get up to speed with the offense.”
    https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/20...thers-players/

Have also read Rhule wanted Brady to rush more, and Brady resisted. They did not rush more after firing Brady anyway.

Hackett has got to be the one on the hottest seat of all right now.

Colts have bottomed out. Going after other teams QB's (Rivers,Wentz,Ryan) post Luck hasn't worked at all. They need a new voice and direction.

I guess the new voice is someone with NO coaching experience…. Well maybe some HS experience…..

Colts name Jeff Saturday interim head coach

    https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...im-head-coach/

The Colts, after an erroneous report from the Indianapolis Star that defensive assistant John Fox would become the interim coach, have hired Jeff Saturday to take over the team.

Still don't understand why they didn't make an effort for Reich to develop someone. I mean Luck retired in 2018. Irsay's impatience for immediate gratification, sure, but you'd think they still would have been developing someone behind the vet band aids.

He's a good dude, should land on his feet in Jacksonville or Philadelphia sooner rather than later.

Some are starting to think Kliff Kingsbury is a dead man walking. Few more games until their bye.
