Bills beef up their defense
by
The Buffalo Bills selected only one defensive player in last weekend's draft, but they are making up for it in the college free-agent market. At least five defensive players are expected to sign by the team's three-day mini-camp this weekend.
Among them:
Safety Jim Leonhard of Wisconsin, who had a school-record 21 career interceptions.
Defensive end George Gause of South Carolina, who had 156 tackles and 15 career sacks. Cornerback Therrian Fontenot of Fresno State, one of the fastest corners in the draft.
