The Zone's Power Rankings: Week 3

by Frank Stephen

The Zone's Frank Stephen presents this weeks power rankings.
Discuss them in our Buffalo Bills forums

New England2-1

Losing both coordinators doesn't slow Belichick who still finds ways to win games. Has a kicker ever been more clutch than Vinatieri?

Pittsburgh2-1Until you figure out how to beat Belichick you are number 2.
Indianapolis3-013 points against Cleveland? Score some more points or the ranking falls.
Philadelphia2-1Too bad they couldn’t get out of their own way against Atlanta.
Cincinnati3-0Carson Palmer is the real deal. New franchise team in the making.
Tampa Bay3-0Cadillac Williams may win rushing title. Gruden showing he knows football. Could be NFC Super Bowl favorite if Philadelphia slips
Atlanta2-1Vick is not a great QB. He might just be the best playmaker in the game.
Seattle2-1Talent rich team that needs Mike Holmgren to be his best.
Denver2-1The Orange Crush Defense is made up of a bunch of cast offs...and held KC’s vaunted ground game in check.
Kansas City2-1Thought for a while there that they possibly had the potential for two 1,000 rushers.
Jacksonville2-1Jack Del Rio? Really?
Dallas2-1Is Bledsoe for real? Check back after week 9.
N Y Jets1-2The countdown to self-destruct is on.
Miami2-1The line-up hasn't changed that much. Was Dave Wannstedt really that bad of a coach?
Oakland0-3Most difficult schedule in the league…could be the best team to go 6-10 ever.
San Diego1-2Found the answer Sunday night. LaDanian Tomlinson has HOF written all over him.
Carolina1-2Losses to Miami and New Orleans? Hello, John Fox please report to the bridge.
St. Louis2-1Prime winning example of the mediocrity in the NFL.
Washington2-0Mark Brunell can still play but the offense has been pathetic except for one 71 second brain cramp by Roy Williams…of the Cowboys.
N Y Giants2-1

Tom Coughlin looks in midseason form. Team looks painfully mediocre.

Buffalo1-2Only positive so far is having beaten the worst team in the league. Lose to New Orleans and Inspector Gadget loses his secret decoder ring.
Chicago1-2As bland as their uniforms. (I honestly, couldn't think of anything to say about the Bears).
Cleveland1-2Held Manning without a TD pass and kept the game with the Colts close. Is Crennel the next great mind?
Baltimore0-2Kyle Boller is awful and so is the offense. Brian Billick forgot his roots.
San Francisco1-2Prime losing example of the mediocrity in the NFL.
Green Bay0-3So sad that Brett Favre has to end his career this way. Loss of Jevon Walker doomed season. Would be lower if not for Tampa Bay game.
Minnesota1-2Note to Vikes: You beat a team without a home. Stop celebrating. Mike Tice is dead coach walking.
Tennessee1-2Look up the word rebuilding…then do it. Travis Henry gets suspended - Bills fans laugh.
Detroit1-1As bland as the Chicago Bear uniforms. (I honestly, couldn't of anything to say about the Lions)
New Orleans1-2Without Hurricane Katrina Saints are 0-3 and being booed badly by home fans.
Arizona0-3Ever get the feeling that no matter how much the Cards improve in one area they just take two steps back someplace else?
Houston0-2...Tough week against the bye. Chris Palmer sacrificed on the alter of assistant scapegoats…er…coaches after two games.
